Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Looks like today will be last leaf blowing and last mowing/mulching of the season. I have an aristocrat pear tree that has had the biggest pear crop in 15 years. These are a bit smaller than a grape and ripen and make a huge mess on my decks. The dog eats them and they don't agree with her and she makes a mess. And the f'ing birds eat them and shit all over everything. The squirrels like them but the crop is too big for them. It has been a fast growing tree and doesn't split out like a bartlett pear but the white petals in the spring are a bitch and the pears in the fall are nasty. I wish we had never planted it.

Rickochet Go back to where you bought that leaf blower. Walk 5 steps to the right, and grab that chainsaw, on the 2nd shelf. Give that blower some time off. It's not getting rid of the problem, like that saw will.

meagain Ethanol fuel has cause billions in damage to small engines causing people high repair bills or causing them to but new equipment.

Do you know how many people don't know this!!! Its amazing. I was one of them when my leaf blower crapped out on me after one season. The guy who fixed it told me to use Trufuel. So instead of buying the mix for gas, I spend a little more and use Trufuel on my trimmers, chainsaw and blowers. I always tell people and they look at me like I'm actually smart!!😁

Typhoon Yeah, even me and my boss where I used to work found out quickly about the new small engines ,and the 'new' gas. And still, people never read instructions, at least the ones with dicks. The ones without, just read them and tell the withdick-person what to do. IF they can find the instructions.

meagain I actually agree with you too. Used to work for a company making fuel sensors and when ethanol started really hitting the gas stations some of our sensors started dissolving. We actually first found out about it at EZ Go Golf carts lol.

That was a long time ago and most mfrs have switched materials, but they all try to go as cheap as possible and there are so many other additives to fuel that you never know.

Working. Posting here. Making the chicken and dumplings I was supposed to make Tuesday, but was instructed to change plans by my wife at the last minute. Except for the posting here part it's a pretty boring day. Looking out the window at this beautiful fall day and wishing I was out playing.

I make it a point to say "Thank you!" just to hear the young person at the register reply, "It's my pleasure to serve
you!" So much nicer than the "I-don't-give-a-damn" attitude from so many fast food workers!

That and they've perfected the drive thru. During the height of Covid the inside dining was closed. You don't sit in a line very long at a Chick-fil-A though. How they get so much flavor in a chicken sandwich with a couple of pickles is beyond me.

Typhoon Yeah, however, Pidgeon can be expensive in the UK. Took my son to Scotland some years back and stayed in some Micehiln rated Inn on the Isle of Skye and Pidgeon was one of the courses. Not special, nor filling. Logged off that bucket list item🙃 a Great trip BTW but no golf. Planning to return.

Got my Covid booster and flu shot today. Both in my bad left shoulder. I like to live dangerously.

Once again proved no matter what type of line I am in, store checkout, traffic, etc, it will grind to a halt when I arrive. Got there 15 minutes early as instructed and it was semi-busy, but appeared to be moving along. Maybe 5 minute wait to check in. Lady is wearing bifocals, but can't read my insurance card without a Sherlock Holmes size magnifying glass lol. She maybe takes another 5 minutes or so to log me in and then realizes she is out of consent forms to sign so tells me to wait. 5 minutes later the lines are gone and it appears everyone ahead of me has gotten their shots. Now all the pharmacy employees have vanished except for one lady working the drive thru. She finally has no cars, turns around and asks me "where did everyone go? Did anyone help you?" So she gets me a consent form...literally everyone else at the pharmacy has vanished like 11am is lunch time? I finally get my shots at 11:25.

Quiet few days - dog walks, some general housework, football, 12 hole golf round - exactly as I'd pictured retirement. Actually being winter and less golf I'm getting a bit twitchy, so I've got a meeting with a foodbank on Wednesday next week. They need a van driver for a couple mornings work each week, will see what's involved when I meet them ...
