Boring times so maybe a highlight or 2. Usual hour workout at 9 am. Went out and swing the Superspeed clubs and my driver .

Going to play 9 at my club and then my 9 hole league later. Or possibly just the 9 hole league. I spent all day yesterday working on the old car (now my daughter's) and cleaning the garage and I'm a bit stiff today.

The Cobra F9 is a fickle driver. Too many drives not dead center end up awful. I’ve said it before, Liked it indoors but hated it outdoors where it counts

Typhoon 1st time out, I was doing heel shots. Made a set up correction, and now center hits are the norm. Even the few just a bit off were really good though. I've got the same HOF shaft in it as I do in the EF, so comparison is fairly good. In a couple more rounds, I'll do a heads up comparison, then 1 will have to go. To finance other quests. 😁

Just got back from the range
Now my bag is set!
Adams 20 degree hybrid experiment was ok.
Shaft is a bit soft (Grafalloy Axis Red Reg flex), so in the spare bag with the rest of the not quite ready for prime time players it goes and Adams 5 TI wood is safe for now.
New SMT 455DB will be my gamer for now. It's longer than my AF460 but more finicky. Needs some time.
Reshafted orange NB (stiff FGS plus orange instead of Reg flex) is also longer and straighter but trajectory is a bit low.
I like it for windy days and harder fairways for roll out but hard fairways here are rare unless it's a goat track.
All in all, a peaceful and productive first time hitting balls since last Oct so no complaints.
I had good form already, so Candillywad and his reverting back to standard irons will make no diff to me. LOL

Try that Adams 20° with an FST90 shaft. I find it to be a great combo. I have 1 myself and built 1 for my nuddy and he loves it.

I did like the way it felt and it went near 200 at the range but when I stepped on it, it was a two way miss.
Maybe I will reshaft it at some point.
My other two Adams hybrids have Nippon 950GH's in them and I like those.

Well, I couldn't wait to get one of those so I dug in my shaft box for something interesting.
I found an original UST Irod Hybrid Utility stiff flex that I am putting together now.

So I reshafted with a UST Irod Hybrid Stiff and tried it on the course yesterday.
I was killing it straight and 200 like I wanted., even into the wind.
The odd toe miss still went out there and stayed in play.
I hit one from an elevated tee to a hard fairway on a tight hole intending to play safe and it went about 250

Excellent. My neighbors and I have been getting together about once a week since c19 started. Having a few drinks and solving the world's problems. Throw in a good cigar if that is your thing.

Played Maumee Bay State Park, a tough Arthur Hills links style course on Lake Erie, east of Toledo. Probably the toughest course our traveling group plays all year....managed an 81.

Killer workout this morning, work at 11-6 then an hour at the range before I head home.. which is less than a mile. 2 minutes without traffic.

Worked all morning. Looked at old Wilson Blades on my lunch break. About to buy (probably) a new cellphone. Current one is about 4 or 5 years old and the battery is going south fast. Rather just go ahead and upgrade instead of replacing the battery. More work to follow that.

Regripped my 2 month old Titleist 718s. Just didn't like the feel of the grips, so went and regripped all 7 irons with cp2's.
Been debating it since I got them a couple of months ago.
But ... when you get used to a grip that you have used for what seems forever,
You have to let the hands dictate ...

I understand the grips. Did that after 1 round with my new TS-1'S. If it doesn't feel right it will be in your head.

Horrible round of golf today. We tee off on one and nobody in sight. We finish one and turn the corner to two and there's a 4some on the tee (par3) waiting on a 6some (!) to putt out! So I call the pro shop and they send somebody out . By now there's another group behind us, now 3 groups on the tee. The marshal says "They say they're keeping pace so they're good, but we'll watch them". I'm like "how are they keeping any kind of pace when there's already 3 groups backed up behind them and it's only the 2nd hole!"
So a few holes later I tell another marshall who does nothing. Finally on 15 another marshal sees them and tells them to split up. He drives off and of course they don't split up. 5 hours and 15 minutes later we slog to a finish. I will never play that course again.

That is some serious bullshit. Worst I ever saw was a round in Vegas. We got behind a bachelor party group. Damn near 6 hours. It was fun watching all 12 of them putting out on 18. Assholes.

garyt1957 yikes.....reminds me of the time my dad, bro and I finished 9 in 1.5 hours and made the turn to play 10 and 11 in 45 minutes with three groups on 12 tee. We go to the pro shop and they say that we are on pace. I said "for a 3.5 hour back 9". They gave us a pro-rated discount for the final 7 holes and we walked off. Have not and will never go back!
