Spuzz Thank you. Haven't heard that before - it was hot water. I have had a couple of ferrules work loose over the years, but never gave it much thought. I'd just put a drop of epoxy on them and push them back down. Haven't had any other problems that I'm aware of, but I don't have any real knowledge that would enable me to associate anything back to that habit forensically anyway.
