I don’t get stuck in the shop too often these days (my position is actually field service tech). Being short handed and the only one with crane experience I’ve been stuck in there for a few days.
30 ton grove mobile crane was having starter issues. You have to pull all the hoods and panels from around the entire engine just to get the starter off. Once I pulled the starter I knew I was screwed 😂 that’s the starter gear below all chewed up.
soooo then I had to pull the engine to put a new ring gear on the flywheel.
