its all relative to the location and the demand. In this area, the only time you will find $49 or less is for twighlite rounds. We are 40 minutes from many , many millions of city dwellers so demand is high as are fees. We are upper mid but there are several $150 -$200 courses and Glen Abbey tops out at about $250. 30 minutes North you can find ok courses to walk for as low as $45 prime time. Go a bit further North and you are in cottage country and fees go up again to @# high as $200.
Having done an analysis of several courses and their fees for next year, the demand created by covid19 has translated to most courses increasing daily fees, reducing or eliminating the number of memberships and increasing the pricing by 30-40% on what memberships are still happening. Certainly good for courses but not for fee payers. Now I play for free at my course but do play on an amateur tour that does a circuit of private courses, those were ~$200/event this year to walk so hopefully they dont increase , although early word is their will be only about 1/2 the 40 or so events as too much demand from members. My buddy is a private club member and I played his course 9x this year, their guest fee is $150 and they will be increasing the guest fee and capping visits at 12 per guest and no guest visits prior to 1 pm on weekend and holidays.
