Finished getting all the docs to the accountant. Went to church and sat on the Zero Turn Husqvarna for 3 hours. Property is looking good (the lawn, not me)! 😂

I did not, thanks! We did not get a rebate or special refund last year and I suspect our tax accountant knows about this. We meet with him on Friday.....I'll bring it up. Gracias!👍

Went to the golf course raked bunkers, and collected trash. After that, I got to spot seed a few greens. Aerate, seed with bent grass, and top dress. Came home, learned that my dad went to the hospital. He was unsteady and had the shakes last night. He and my mom went to the Dr, were told to head to the hospital for some tests, turns out he has pneumonia... he's staying overnight for observation and has already been started on meds...

I am watching the crew moving down my street replacing our sewer main line. They are about 10 feet into the street in front of my house. The ram hoe sounds like a jack hammer beating on my walls and dishes vibrate in the kitchen. It sounds like thunder inside from the track hoes running up and down on steel plates. They are going down 20' with a 4' wide trench. They are hitting a lot of solid limestone and having to use the ram a lot and they are only moving a few feet per day. This really sucks. I hope my block foundation survives.

Too long. Where they are jack hammering this morning it appears that they hit rock at about 5' and have to go to 20'. They don't get off the pavement so they have to hammer then change from hammer to scoop many times. I am sitting at my desk in the basement about 50' from the street and can hardly hear the TV 5' away. I live on a corner and once they get to the other side of my yard they will have to replace the manhole structure at the 4 way intersection which will take weeks. I heard that they are two months behind schedule due to the rock. They are taking out the old sewer main which is at 8' and replacing a new one at 20' to eliminate a pump station. They plugged the main at our intersection and have a huge hose pumping to the next manhole and running two diesel pumps 24/7 which you can hear droning inside the house. They had public hearings on this project before they started but never mentioned the noise factor. Our neighborhood is mostly retired geezers like us who are at home most of the time. There is no escape. All have full block basements and built in the 60's so most basements are finished. Our biggest concern is foundation damage from the hammering. And it will be difficult to determine until some water leakage begins. What a potential nightmare. Do I sound like a grumpy old fart. Damn right. I can't even tell them to get off my grass since they aren't getting off of the street. They have been working on this since early last summer and have progressed about 1,100 ft and have about 1,700 ft. to go. My neighbor across the street gets bent over twice as they go passed the front of his house and up the street on his side yard passing his new 6 month old concrete driveway. I think I need to pack up the wife and dog and go visit PapaD for a few months.

Thanks guys. Mom was told that if his BP drops that they would send him to the big hospital 40 miles away in the middle of the night, and call her. No word last night so we're taking that as good news. A family friend is a doctor there and he has been checking in on my dad starting last night.
