All USA made minimalist set up. Bag is a Jones made in Far East no doubt. All the clubs (heads, shafts and grips are USA made) Hard to find clubs these days like this have to go back to this era. 6 club minimalist set up.

Yes Rick. It's the aim small miss small thing with all of these clubs. The irons are narrow sole with not much bounce. I have practiced shorter shots during the health crisis and it's a learning curve. Since, I am a picker (learned on non-irrigated muni turf) it's a bit easier for me than golfers that learned on lusher turf with more width and bounce in soles. I am going to use this set for awhile to see how I do. It would be easier to go from small to medium sized heads rather than the other way around. When I do dead center impact the blades and the wooden woods no better feeling in golf. The putter is an old PCS (Professional Clubmakers Society) Elmore Just persimmon and has a great feeling.

They aren't as penal as you would think. Once you get over the fact and accept what you are playing and ALL the clubs/heads are smaller then you can move forward.

Irons think MP-14's. Some, I know play irons like an MP-14 so it's not that big of a deal. Part of it is the Minimalist set up. I think when you go down in set size you also acknowledge you are going to play and learn how to change trajectories, play the ball more down with 1/2 and 3/4 shots and not in the air as much with full shots. Hence smaller narrow soled clubs help with this kind of golf.

Who else plays all USA manufactured heads, shaft, grip clubs?

After comparing them to the modern cavity back irons I sent them on their way years ago. I must say there was nothing better then the sound and feel when hitting the Citation woods on the screws and they were long in their day. I think they made them in both a black and a red stained version with the shiny brass heel weight. A team mate had a set I got to hit occasionally. They were a bit pricey in their day as well. I played their little brother the H&B Louisville Slugger Irons and woods.

scotts33 I presently do not play much that is actually made in America, but I will tell you, I am making a genuine effort to buy American in everything I can. My dad used to harp on buy American, no made in China junk, I grew up on it and as things tend to do, what you don't truly understand, can/was easily pushed aside for convenience. No more.

(Warning, mini political related rant) I can no longer pretend China is not evil, the people of their own country are oppressed and I personally believe this virus was put into the world by the Chinese Government to do a few things, A) kill off their weak/non workers, B) Be used as a fear mongering control tactic. C) Give a reason to the world to stop mass gatherings (eliminate the legal protests in Hong Kong) D) In an effort with internal terrorist groups in the US, cripple our economy, attempting to take out Trump, while re-establishing the need for cheaper goods. E) Help re-establish Democrats in US as the controlling group, to lift all pressure off of China and continue the progression towards civil obedience/ Constitutional Destruction in the US.

My intent of this topic was not political in nature and you won't see me post in coronavirus threads because of that. Please leave it golf equipment made in USA. There is some equipment but very little. Louisville is about it and all I can think of at the moment....any other clubs? Grips Star and PURE. True Temper steel in Mississippi. Golf balls?

I guess there’s some products ( like club heads) that just aren’t made in USA anymore. What we need to do is boycott companies like Nike that refuse to make anything in the USA . I wonder what percentage of product in Walmart comes from China? There are some companies like New Balance that are trying to make some product in USA, you got to look hard but you can find a lot that isn’t outrageous in price.

In some cases it would be nearly impossible to make some things here in the US because certain types of manufacturing capability are gone now. I work with a company that makes machines that cut and sew fabric and 40 years ago their machines were all over the US, but 15-20 years ago you would have had a really hard time finding one. A little over 5 years ago they started to be used here again.

Change the grips? Both PURE and Star are better quality than most grips of today IMO. EPDM rubber lasts longer.

His points are all good, if you have the time and desire to improve. Personally, I just play golf to be with my buds (or SWMBO), have fun, and enjoy hitting as many good shots as possible; I do not practice. In that light, I play the biggest shovels I can stand to look at. I'll take all the forgiveness and poor-skill-masking I can get. Once my ego got past the "I love looking at a player's club" phase, I'm OK with that.

Testing a 7i out this maybe the iron I have been looking for to fit/build for majority of hdcp. golfers. Won't break the bank.
