I know they are a 'past' item, but just noticed on the DTG website that they have the original SMT driver heads for giveaway prices!! There are some lefty's in the bunch too. They did sell out of the 455DB a couple years ago though. Quite unfortunately!

Can't really be a shill for the SMT company as it's gonzo, but these damn heads are unmerciful on golf balls. After trying most all of the OEM heads(U.S. companies), and damn near every top name component heads, last summer I revisited the Indio, with a DTG FGS plus shaft.
Made me feel kind of stupid as to how much money I'd wasted thru the years when I discovered the best damn setup ever, even after having a couple of them 'back when'.. So, just a heads up for anyone wanting to pick cherries from component website.

(yeah, I ordered 3 more!!)

I have one if you're interested. It has interesting glittery paint job and a little dent on the sole. I can't hit it for a damn for some reason.

Indeed it was. I had a nice , long love affair with my 455/ Blue Velvet combo....

I've gone back a few times and while I still like the head IMO, today's heads are definitely more forgiving and longer. Specifically, the G30, G, G25 by Ping are perhaps the best heads I have ever hit , Cobra as well.

The wine red head and satin, smooth face was sure purdy though

The SMT db455 and the Geek DCT are the only two non-OEM heads I keep. I can't get the same distance with the shafts I used in the past, so one of these days I will reshaft them with a shaft suit my current condition.

PITA to pull shaft from these deep bored heads. Patience and eventually toast paint around the neck if heat it up too many times. DCT is better with the two since it has an area with no paint around the neck.

Yes DCT, is/was almost an equal to the 455, just not quite as pretty.

Dct might be next on my list.....maybe a integra solong 450...but that blue, ugh🙂 def miss the db455....one sweet head.

Got an Indio from Diamond Tour a couple of months ago. Very impressed with it so far. Distance and control are as good as any driver I've tried and it is nice and quiet at impact - more so than any driver I've had since I started golfing (when drivers were transitioning from persimmon to steel).

        Par4QC Better grab another....only $9.99!!!

Where did you see that ?
DTG only has 455V2 listed and it's $99.9

        K,
Additional search come up, it did not when I select the SMT driver head from the main menu.

You have to look under their 'golf sale' heading...... or if you just type in "SMT" in their search bar, they come up.

I grabbed a couple low lofts, and 1 high(for when I become old and weak-er). They launch higher than designated lofts, btw. I'm using a 7.5 now and it is just great.

It do look yummy!! Woulda already been gone at my house.

How long ago did you order the heads ?
I'm having trouble clearing the shopping cart and could not check out with some old items in it.

Recently got a DTG El Matador with a FGS shaft but it's reg flex and I need a stiff. Nice club, though.
