thats awful....but understandable
i have to think These must be winter residents with no younger friends and family nearby or they have brutally uncaring kids.
we have a number of retirees on our small street , quite a few have their kids and grandkids either living in the same house for this or they visit to buy food. my neighbour across m while only 65 has a heart condition and concussion. 3 of us ( 2 of us 58 and another 30 ish) are doing the errands for the ones who don't or need something so they don't need to go to stores , or limit it. we just send a teaxt around when one of us is going out and they send us a list of items as need. Usually just a loaf of bread or something.
Have seen quite a few local Facebook notices for neighbourhood sign up to help others and some looking to do it for a fee.
others are making use of grocery and pharmacy delivery which is free when a certain amount is purchased (usually $75 here) ....do you not have such a service there ?
