MartinD Interesting finish to this week's European Tour event... Only six birdies on the 18th hole during the fourth round. With the playoff being on the 18th, you might think that par would give you a good chance of winning - it didn't turn out that way!
KCee MartinD I was nursing a back injury yesterday and watched the final round including the 5? playoff holes. I sort of felt bad for Drysdale with Campillo making several long birdie putts after Drysdale had hit it close.
MartinD KCee I watched most of the playoff in the clubhouse bar after playing my usual Sunday morning game at Longniddry - a slightly biased audience (as David Drysdale has local connections - he was a junior and assistant pro at Dunbar Golf Club, about 20 miles east of Longniddry), but mostly appreciative of some exceptional golf under pressure from both players.
KCee MartinD I watched most of the final round and it was great as you couldn't tell what was going to happen. Drysdale looked to be done after missing some makeable putts, but then others faltered as well. They both made the 18th hole look pretty easy during the playoff.
candukid 513 yards is not a par 4 in my books. I would have to hit 2 shots of my life to get it there in regulation. They sure do play a different game than us mortals.
MartinD candukid I could play that hole with a drive and a short iron, yes - just don't mention the 3-wood that I'd have to hit in between... 😆
