In the latest edition of Patrick Reed vs the world...

Last week Brooks Koepka called him out. As did recently unemployed golf analyst, Peter Kostis, who says he can recall numerous times in which he personally observed Reed improve his lie over the years.

What does Reed do? Well, let's see... He refuses to comment, and then goes out and wins his 8th tournament this weekend. This guy just lives to make everybody hate him. LOL

One thing we can't take away from him is that he really doesn't GAF about public opinion. The more bashing that comes his way, the better he seems to play. I don't know who his coach is, but I'd suggest that he keep telling him to play with that chip on his shoulder. It's clearly working.

The guy can play fantastic golf, so unfortunate he has acted in ways to take away from that.

Gotta give him credit....he talks with his clubs.

as for Keopka, he has fast become one if the most disliked personalities on tour , at least for me. He's been nothing short of an ass since the Ryder Cup. JMHO

Reed has a seriously well rounded game and has been incredible around the greens lately. I hope he’s decided to keep it clean from here on out.

They were talking about this (improving lie) on morning drive the other day....I think it was due to Koepka saying yes in response to a reporter asking him if Reed cheated. They were all outraged, like he did it again, come to find out it was the same incident. πŸ™„. I realize it's a story, but c'mon, get over it, and acting like he's shaking the foundation of the game, lol, these hoity toity snobs. They'd be better served not to give him any publicity.....smae goes for the players (Cameron Smith, Brooks, etc.). All it does is give him a shot in the arm!

P.S. great freaking win with all the birdies down the stretch!

PA-PLAYA Peter Kostis, who says he can recall numerous times in which he personally observed Reed improve his lie over the years.

Kostis called him out about mashing down the grass behind the ball, when in the rough. Calls it cheating, or the same as called it that. Fuck me if every Pro does not do that! Esp. when they take out a FW club in 12' deep rough. Any golfer knows they are not going to use that club. Kostis was saying that Reed does it the opposite, uses an iron to mash the grass, then grabs his FW club. That's not the proper way to 'cheat', at all.

As far as the sand incident, the rules makers need to go back to the original sand rules. No touching anything. No moving anything.

Like him or not, he is a great golfer, but should be even better.

Par4QC Like him or not, he is a great golfer

Agree, but Darth Vader was good with a light saber too. He's still Darth Vader. πŸ˜‚

I gotta give the guy props for being able to tune out the noise and use the hate to drive himself.

KCee I gotta give the guy props for being able to tune out the noise and use the hate to drive himself.

Darth Vader is not distracted by comments from Jedi Fans. The Dark Side filters all the noise.

Whether Reed has Narcissist Personality Disorder or Sociopath Personality Disorder, he does't care what people think of him. He's been accused of cheating since his college days and continues to cheat.

Narcissist or Sociopath he most likely has the inability to feel guilt or shame. He can't change. He's a great golfer, but I can never root for him and will always root against him.

If he cheats or not I am getting tired of hearing about it. If he cheats catch him at it and penalize him. If not just move on. Nothing to see here.

As articles with Caddy and player accounts have been posted in previous threads about this , many players cheat and it has been going on for decades. Some are less obvious and it might be taking an incorrect drop 100 yards ahead of where the ball last crosses a hazard, or the dozens who mark their ball incorrectly ( Phil had alot to say about this) and almost every player who improves their lie by placing a club down behind the ball in the rough. Reed's actions are inexcusable and he's a dumbass for being so blatant about it when there are cameras everywhere. Right
or wrongly, the tour obviously didnt feel it was intentional as they did not DQ him.

like with Tiger, Bubba, Bryson, Phil and others there might be reasons to dislike them ....Reed is also one of those polarizing figures. He's cocky with a big chip on his shoulder ....but he not only talks the talk, he walks the walk and is one of the best players on the planet and outside of Poulter, probably the most feared player to play a match against.

there is no doubt he has some underlying psychological pathology ( who doesn't) which might stem from his difficult upbringing. I certainly wont hold that against him. It is also apparent to me that, like Bubba, he is very uncomfortable in some social settings and has difficulty speaking to the media. It's no excuse for cheating the way he did . Hopefully, he gets it and the sand issue was the last of it.

He's definitely going to add an interesting dynamic to the Ryder Cup coming up in September, assuming of course that he remains eligible. He's currently ranked 3rd.
