Certain mod is and always has been an overzealous and a ,( several others are much, much more rational) biased moderator, makes things up as he goes and the rules are different for friends and pals than they are for others. If you disagree with the TGN brotherhood even if its a normal, unheated debate, he might ban people. ( although there are some people that warrant bans) . The 2000 page anti trump thread is the best example, people banned all the time who are pro trump, and there is most often zero reason for it, other than that person puts up a differing opinion to the masses.
what's worse is, makes the cardinal mistake that any person in charge can and gets personal and makes personally condescending and attacking comments about people he bans , often commented in the thread where he bans them. Comments of a nature that he would ban people for.
while certain things need to be monitored, ( attacks and profanity, racist comments etc) there is a certain degree of heavy handedness on the forum at times which creates an environment of censorship that stifles openness and drives personal agendas. If is what it is and if one wants to participate, you play by the rules ( if you can discern when a rule is a rule and when it's not)
