Well it took 20 years, but yesterday was a milestone. Banned from Torontogolfnuts:

You have been permanently banned by Mule56 for the following reason:
Didn`t like the form rules.

I was responding to an incorrect assumption on the Vertex manufacturing process. Or in the minds of whoever Mule56 is, "advertising". 😂

Alienating golf industry guys seems like a solid strategy for growth.

ValueGolf Must be run by the same guy(s) that used to run GEA. I got banned there for 'being a business', while pushing HOF shafts. This was back in the 1st year HOF was in business. I also nearly got banned from FGI, by the infamous coachsb, also 'for being a business', for trying to sell spine finders. Shady lot they are, the MODS.

Hope your business somehow manages to survive all this publicity. 🤣

that sucks. I have been a member for 15 years and its a good forum. Certainly not an FGI but Lots of good and smart people....many are opinionated, 99% are only OEM supporters.

yes the mods are overly aggressive ( no arguing, no personal attacks, no spam, no profanity, etc) its actually a good thing in the end. Ive had my run ins with Mule as well , he's overzealous and gets involved personally sometimes which a mod should never do. That said, he has a tough job as its a busy, busy place.

advertising is a real sore spot....I was accused of advertising and had posts deleted many times just for giving club building advice....paid sponsors felt I was taking business away from them by helping out .....lol

I definitely understand putting the kibosh on any outside advertising when you have paying sponsors. But when an industry guy is clarifying something about a product, that should be welcomed, certainly not banned (as you said, btw, thank you).

WRX does this very well. They are fine with me/others answering questions, etc. They know it's a benefit to the forum.

But hey, whatever floats their boat. 😀

Yeah, I quit that forum a long time ago. Plenty of personal attacks and flame wars, except for a certain group of members who could do anything. They really don't want "industry guys" on their forum at all unless you pay to be a sponsor - regardless of what you have to say. As soon as you chose the forum name "ValueGolf" you had two strikes against you before you even posted anything...

WRX suspended me once for 2 weeks. I posted a classified ad, sold the item, marked the thread as SOLD, deleted the pictures and content and locked it. Apparently, they want you to leave the content and pics. They pull the suspension trigger pretty quick.

Agreed. My stuff is always clean and condition understated (not to mention cheap) so I never even thought about a dispute, but leaving the content and pics makes sense.

There is something to be said about not allowing equipment sellers "free" advertising be it direct or indirect. Not naming names, but it could be an issue.

My first golf shop was named The Golf Workshop. I got an Email from The Golfworks saying they had an issue with the name. I emailed back the name and address of my lawyer. They went away.

My 2nd business was called Whatever Fit Golf (not the exact name). Being vague here. I got a call from a company saying they had a golf fitting system named Whatever Fit Golf. I told them there was Whatever Fit Eyeglasses, What ever Fit Storm Doors, etc. and the name of my lawyer. They also went away.

I was once was asked by a golf chat (forget which one) to change my screen name as it "sounded" like a golf business. While I disagreed, I did it.
