DonM I’ve been storing it with the handle of a small screwdriver stuck in it. That is keeping it opened up. Still think it’s a crap item though.

I have had a few of those and they suck. You can actually cut the bottom out and just put the two halves together around the shaft then clamp it down. The clamp like Landon linked to is much better. It has a vulcanized rubber part that is much more flexible. I have one like it and have used it for about 15 or more years.

I’ve had this thing for 15 years and can’t imagine not having it, even though I stopped “club building” years ago.

Yes he did. I have one just like it. Wonderful clamp. He did a professional job on these and they work great and are a super time saver.

I have the same clamp and feel the same way! I have to put it on over the tip end of the shaft and
then slide it up (which isn't so easy either!). Some good suggestions by other posters though....I'll have
to try them.....

Yeah, he made the one I have now...it was the last one he ever made😢. I think he made the “No BS” spine finder I have as well as the clamp. Maybe Rex was the spine and clamp brother, I could be wrong.

Typhoon Yeah, he made the pullers and I made the clamps and spine finders. I sold the last of his pullers on here after he passed away, for his wife. I've thought about doing the pullers also, along with the clamps, but not sure the market is there any more. With the adjustable heads now, I doubt anyone would pay attention to spine finders. Also gave some thoughts toward making drill press clamps for reaming hosels. Just so people don't lose fingers using handheld drills. 😀
