I'll start. Vertex AW on SK Fiber TT75R shaft. Cleveland Launcher HB 5W on UST 55 Gold R shaft.

Mattyv "Not a build, but last night I removed the grips from 17 irons I got with a bag I picked up. Some of these grips had to be 50 years old(not exaggerating). I saw things I never knew existed. There were leather wrapped grips with cork under them. I had 2 that had plugs in the butt end that were nailed. A bunch had some black tar stuff under them. What a mess."

The first year I worked in a pro shop at the local course, part of my duties included regripping.

Not much different than welded on green Victory grips from by gone era clubs. Even today I charge an extra labor fee to do this kind of regrip on old clubs. More times than not the old steel maybe rusted and yield the club crap anyway.

I run into this much more today with the after Covid golf newbies for obvious reasons new to golf pull out grandpa or grandma's set.

scotts33 oh boy....local buddy, well to do, playing an old set of Titleist irons, asks me if I'll regrip them if he brings me the grips....for some beer. Sure🙄....they have the green victory grips on them.....its like thet are superglued to the shaft.....came off in pieces and messy. The champ key grips came with tape and solvent so I didn't have use any supplies. Plus I got to keep the extra 5 grips not used plus the12 pack. Not so bad in the end!....but that might be the first and last time I take those grips off a set, lol. And the champ keys he sourced were actually of decent quality (not sure they will last but they felt great and were on point for mids)

Nothing handles scorpions better than chickens. Get yourself a couple of chickens.

Not a build but from my fitting stuff I scooped up some various head weight screws for the Qi4D driver so I can play with shot shape and weighting when mine comes in.

I have used some Champkeys in the past. They are serviceable grips. Pretty cheap on Amazon if you have free shipping.

ode IF you ever do that kind of regrip again with welded on grips....use a heat gun to soften them and a channel lock pliers to remove the pieces. Just basically twist them off in pieces with the channel locks. You'll still have a roughish pebbleish shaft surface that will need a going over with a golf shaft tape type remover.

I learned back in the 80's to never do favors for friends as they'll never appreciate your skills and will try and keep trying to take advantage of you.

Let them take them to a big box store and they can be taken advantage of. Golf stores in most areas don't touch regrips for less than $7/club labor add grip cost. Charge what they do and most stores won't remove old tape and size correctly.

The hobbyist shoots themselves in the foot continually and lives to regret it. ☺

Yep. Was asked again this year and said nope....my club.aking days for others have passed on and directed them to DSG. My brother, dad, nephew, and grest- nephew get a lifetime exemption however.....bringing some supplies with this.weekend to do some work!

I think this is correct. There are some who have helped me out in other ways, the quid pro quo is still a thing that gets honored. I don't mind providing the labor for those folks...but the rub is thinking supplies/etc. are included. Some people are just 🤬 cheap.

My club has recently been charging members $2/grip labor to remove old grips and install new and they are not gouging on the grip price. Some members are still moaning it's $2. 🙄

$2 to remove old grip, remove old tape, size correctly with or without build up tape and install grip straight and seated is way to cheap.

Here you're talking a club and if a private club with large annual membership cost you have mainly white collar professional types who are making upwards of $200k say on average and they bemoan the fact of regripping costs. Sounds like something in society is way out of whack. This is just the tip of the societal wackiness. JMO!

Exactly! They should be flooded with members getting new grips. My buddy bought the grips himself and they only charged him $2 each to install....unbelievable bargain.....only I am cheaper because I will do it for him for a couple of beers lol I've heard secondhand that they have charged $15 for a $10 grip plus another $2 for install. In that case they are doing ok. Our club is more blue collar than most but I've seen members driving $100K cars that complain about a sandwich and fries costing $12 now. Anyone can be cheap about almost anything.

The arm has 2 measuring pins : one at the butt end to calibrate the scale @30.0 readout by sliding the silver bar, and another at the other side to measure swing weight of clubs (D4.4 in the picture).

Swapped out a shaft for my bro, note to the board the ferrule on the PXG Wildcat is part of the hosel, it is not removable....luckily I figured that out before it was too late🙃
