Mattyv "Not a build, but last night I removed the grips from 17 irons I got with a bag I picked up. Some of these grips had to be 50 years old(not exaggerating). I saw things I never knew existed. There were leather wrapped grips with cork under them. I had 2 that had plugs in the butt end that were nailed. A bunch had some black tar stuff under them. What a mess."
The first year I worked in a pro shop at the local course, part of my duties included regripping.
I bet I did more than 100 of them one spring. The wrapped leather with tar and wood plugs were a REAL
PAIN.....!!!
