Rickochet I finally finished up reworking a set of Ping Eye 2 + orange dot irons. I reamed the 3 thru SW to .370. I then installed some pull out UST Recoil 760 F2 and shafted up the 6 - SW and added some Winn DriTac LT jumbos. Due to the abraded area poking above the hosel I added some counter sunk ferrules. I know adding ferrules to Eye 2's will offend the Ping purists but I was compelled to do it. These will be the season starters for me.
fatshot Rickochet They look good Rick! The ferrules don't bother me....I actually prefer that to the non-ferrule look. IIRC, you're as tall as I am....(6'6").....what length did you make them?
DonM Rickochet Do those grips have a sort of burnt or harsh rubber smell? I have 8 of them that I think I bought on eBay, and they smell funny. So Iโm wondering if I got fakes. They feel fine on the clubs so far. I have a known good one on my driver and it doesnโt have that smell. But itโs older.
Rickochet fatshot k. IIRC, you're as tall as I am....(6'6").....what length did you make them? Not quite as tall being 6' 2". I like all my irons at +2" so my wedges start at 38". I played these shafts in some Integra Sooolong heads last summer at that length and liked the feel. These should be some high flyers but easy to hit.
Spuzz Street meat grips... ๐ฎ They look nice with proper colour matching and whatnot. A welcome change from the rainbow stuff we usually see here ๐
Rickochet KCee How are the Dritac LT grips? I have played jumbo grips for many years starting with Avon Chamois then going to Winn Excel. I went to the DriTac jumbos when they came out and liked the wet grip performance and durability better. Then came the DriTac Lt and I like them even better. I played them all last season. I always liked the Winn Excel jumbos because of the reduced taper. The DriTac LT is even better as I get older and my grip strength gets worse with age and "arthur" in my thumb joints.
Eguller Put together a 46* Vokey w/Steelfiber shaft to experiment as a PW replacement as I like their other wedges. Test as soon as all this white stuff goes away.
Rickochet sdandrea1 Love everything but the ferrules, Rick! I knew that you would just love them. ๐คฃ
sdandrea1 gllama Steve, looking forward to a review. Those irons of yours look great! I'm going to put these in my FL carry bag for the nine-hole walking outings. My ball striking will have to be A-Game to play well, but I'll report back on feel, etc.
Par4QC sdandrea1 A-Game I've got some blade heads if you want them....for sure to have "A Game" then. ๐ฒ
Par4QC Spuzz They really aren't that bad. I'd have to dig them out and see for sure. Did hit the 8i and was decent.
LBlack14 The putters I put together. Thanks to Rick @Rickochet for the hosel adapter. That putter jig thingy is grrreat!!
LBlack14 The Blast/No Doubt is shocking, how good it feels. I bought some NOS heads a bit ago and just now putting one together. The Rife, I had to find a hosel adapter for as well. Luckily, they still had some in stock on their website.
LBlack14 Par4QC You buy any of the Blast iron heads/wedge heads? Damn, them things is old. I wish. Email sent.
