I'll start. Vertex AW on SK Fiber TT75R shaft. Cleveland Launcher HB 5W on UST 55 Gold R shaft.

sdandrea1 I had a nice set of i20 irons when they came out. I was still hitting steel shafts then. I LOVED that head, especially the way it framed the ball at address. So hitta-licious! I don't think any of the "i" series that have followed looked nearly as good.

I agree. The i25 irons were nice as well. I picked up a set a few years ago. Hit them the same as my ie1 irons and ended up selling them to a friend. Both the i20 and 25 are great looking irons.

Par4QC Just shafted the Vertical Groove thing, that somebody made me buy this week. I do like the different looks of this head, esp. the deep face, and wild green color. Had to go with the FST Plus Electric shaft.

That's the shaft I was seriously considering. Mine's out for delivery.

Maltby TS2 irons on UST Proforce 95 shafts. X flex, so probably too manly for me. Strangely tip heavy graphite shafts, even at standard graphite lengths and no tip weights these things came in at D4. While I've gamed the TS1s for a year, this is my first look at the TS2s. Very nice.

Really doesn't matter though, as the TS1 set continues to shine. While I tried out the beautiful KE4 forged set at the range and was super impressed with them, they just won't beat out the TS1. I don't expect the TS2 will either.

It will be interesting to see - I liked the feel, distance and trajectory control of the TS2 a lot.

You just have to get by or ignore the thicker top line.

In my opinion, nothing will ever beat the TS1's - I can see myself gaming them for a long time, longer than any other iron set - of course being a ho that really only means 1-2 years max lol

I always said back then that if I ever wanted to try graphite iron shafts, it would be either the Proforce 95 or Grafalloy Blue.

Well, the TS2s on the range mats yesterday were great. A bit lower flight than my TS1 set, and about 5 yards longer. Took them to the course and it was a disaster. At that swingweight, my tempo was completely messed up. The heads are great no doubt. but those Proforce 95s are coming out quick. Somehow, with some stellar short game play, I was still able to shoot even on the day. So the TS2/95x set will go down in history as the lowest average scoring set I have ever owned. 😀

wonder if you could take your black sharpie and go along the backside of the top line? Give the illusion of a thinner top line?

Hmmmm...make sure whatever you use to blacken it, it is easy to remove in case you don't like them. ;-)
Dry erase marker ? Cheap paint ?

Eguller I just used black electrical tape along the top of my XDS hybrids. Makes the whole head look black, no shine at all.

Since my miss is a skyball, black electrical tape is a fixture on all my clubs lol. Saves me a lot of money as it protects resale value!

Eguller Hey !!!! I'm becoming a PING fan boy. Oh, no....... We'll see if I am still one after tomorrow's round.
Talk of the 'G' series being easy to hit, but these boys are darn near automatic (and look very good).

Had a full round with the i20/Kuro Kage 80ir. They are easy to hit straight for sure and feel amazingly good
for a cast head. The only issue is that they are 1 -1.5 clubs shorter and fly lower than my gamers (cf16).
Probably not going to have them bent stronger because I feel that the bounce is just right and it might be
compromised by the adjustment. For now, they are indeed good enough to stay in the backup bag with
sunlight when the gamers misbehave. Not quite a PING Fan Boy but....🤣

That’s Ping for ya. I love their irons for consistency and back in the eye2 days, easy to hit. If you’re looking for distance, look elsewhere. A few years ago I picked up a set of i25 irons and we had a couple i20 irons lying around. Both irons were shorter than I expected. The ie-1 irons I have are not much on longer either, maybe a half club.

When talking about “hollow head” or foam injected irons, you don’t hear about the i500, mostly Cobra and Taylormade. Ping makes nice looking irons in the players category and forgiving easy to hit irons in their game improvement irons but they have yet to crack the “distance” barrier.
