Walterjn Well, I've put together a new shaft for my Srixon Z785. I'm building the Xcaliber Mystic 6 I picked up from @colej . I just got it epoxied on, and I'm letting it cure. I'm leaving the Xcaliber Avalon 7, that i also got from him, alone for now.
KCee Walterjn I'm leaving the Xcaliber Avalon 7, that i also got from him, alone for now. That's a nice shaft. Very smooth. The purple color is cool too
gllama Walterjn Iβm very interested in your opinion of the Z785/Xcaliber combo. I have the Z785 (Thanks Rex!) head and the Xcaliber Mystic shaft. The Z785 is currently shafted with a Tensei but thinking of trying the Xcaliber once I figure out how to take off the Tour Edge adapter without ruining the shaft π€ͺ
sdandrea1 Walterjn It's so rewarding to know we've managed to addict another innocent victim into the ranks of the never-ending club building experience. π€£π
Par4QC gllama once I figure out how to take off the Tour Edge adapter without ruining the shaft 'I know a guy'......that sells very nice shaft pullers........ π
Walterjn gllama happily. The reason I decided to put an adapter on the mystic is because of the Xcaliber T6 I put in the logicalone neuro head. I'm wanting to see what happens with that shaft myself.
Walterjn gllama so far, I'm liking the feel of the Xcaliber Mystic 6 shaft in the z785. I also have quite a bit of yarn inside that head, so it's a nice muted thwack. I'm planning on giving it a good test next week. I'm planning on playing 18, so I'll have a good chance to use it. I'll see about giving you a decent report from my rudimentary testing.
Walterjn Par4QC I'm wanting one of those as well from thus guy you happen to know. Please let him know I'd like one if he's willing to part with one for me.
Mattyv Currently glued and drying. Dynacraft Profit CB Irons for my buddy. 3-PW plus a SW. Shafted with Acer Velocity R flex shafts. I still need to trim to length which will be +2" over standard. My buddy is very tall and big. Hard for him to get much bend in his stance. These will finish off with some DTG 360 Midsize grips. These are replacing a set of Inazone Single Length Irons he has been playing for a couple of years. He couldn't get used to the same length on all the clubs. I will be posting those for sale on here soon for him. Can't wait to see how the Profits work out for him.
MidwayJ I finally built the Maltby KE4 Tour FDI hybrid I bought a few weeks ago. I used a DGSL pull I had lying around. I also built a TS3 gap wedge with an FST Pro 115 shaft. I'm going to play it with a set of KE4 Max 5-PW that my wife is buying me for Christmas. π I also rebuilt the Top Flight Tour 5-iron I pulled apart the other day. (I guess I should have taken the plastic off the TS3 before the pics!)
DonM MidwayJ If any any point you decide you donβt like the DGSL shaft, lemme know. Itβs my favorite iron shaft. I was just thinking about trying to find some more. I have about 3 new Apollo Phantom shafts you could have.
sdandrea1 MidwayJ also built a TS3 gap wedge with an FST Pro 115 shaft. I'm going to play it with a set of KE4 Max 5-PW t How does that GW loft match up with the strong lifts on the KE4 MAX wedges?
MidwayJ DonM Sounds like a great opportunity for price gouging. π I'll let you know. I'll probably try a graphite shaft with this head at some point.
sdandrea1 MidwayJ The sole on that TS3 GW looks pretty wide, but the pics on the GolfWorks site don't seem to indicate a wide sole. I wonder what the TS3 7, 8, 9, W look like in hand.
KCee sdandrea1 Not sure if this helps, but soles of TS1-IM, TM P770 and TS3. The TS3 is a bit wider than P770, but not significantly so IMO. Pic is a bit deceiving as TS1-IM sort of looks larger.
MidwayJ sdandrea1 Obviously I don't have those other clubs but the sole of TS3 gap wedge looks very narrow compared to my SGI "OMG" Top Flite PW. It's a little narrower than a Snake Eyes 600XC PW and KE4 Max PW, and about the same width as a Maltby M Series 52* wedge.
