This is my opinion only....
In stock form, the IZ is about 1/2-1 flex softer than stated.
I tried it in stock form... (me, 85-90mph driver speed) . Too soft for my swing.
Tipped 1/2 inch. More controllable and easier to determine shot pattern with more consistency. (Isn't that what we're after?)
IMO, 1/2" tip isn't going to make a dramatic difference in feel. But I think it'll help with control and help predict a consistent pattern. Of course YMMV...
