I built a set of Maltby STi first gen irons. Big shovels, but not that wide of soles, not big offset, and not overly bouncy. UST iRN shafts. First I made a test 7 iron and loved the shaft. It’s the first iron in a long time that encourages me to make a smooth swing. So I built the set.
Played the first round today. I’m very happy with them. They are super forgiving. Fly high. One club stronger than my normal lofts, so they are one club longer for me. 🏋️ But they are higher too. And it’s so nice to not be fighting my iron shafts.
