Any suggestions to completely remove pvd finish? Thinking mostly about some wedges that have already been worn but still retain a great deal of original fini...

** The breakdown from heat of H2O2 appears to be logarithmic. It becomes self destructing extremely rapidly at some temperature. I have seen it become nearly explosive. I bear the burn scars from it.
In production you may have more material to strip per unit of solution . Heat is a product of the breakdown.
If units are comparable, then I will guess that in production you are generating more heat than the tank can get rid of whereas in the lab the heat transferred to the atmosphere faster for some reason.
Possible solutions would be to strip less material at one time paying close attention to the initial temperature, or adding a cooling coil that would kick in at a given temp to control the temp rise. **

Typhoon The thing about removing PVD is that it will allow the metal to rust. Not sure if that is the result sought.

I know, I was reading though the links and it’s not simple with some of the chemicals they mention. Personally I’d go with the hydrogen peroxide mix. Both links mentioned it.

Also, I don’t know either on what his expected outcome is.

The Naval Jelly took it down to raw for me and now it rusts which was fine. I just do it every now and then

Bead blasting or dustless blasting will work pretty fast to remove PVD.

Spray on some Aircraft Remover (WalMart or Advance Auto) and let it soak for 30 minutes and hit it with a Scotchbrite polishing wheel or hand held pads. It's nasty stuff!

If the finish on Steelhead XR pro irons is PVD I've been working on a beat up set with a fine grit sanding wheel and then buffing with scotchbrite. It's tedious but it seems to work.

Some players think that weathered look is cool. PVD shows it more and sooner IMO, but black is kinda cool.

What I don’t like is if you play in poor quality soil or sandy soil the face gets spattered like buckshot. It would be nice if you could just get a wear mark in the middle like a chrome or satin forges face.
