braveheart Do Sting Stopper dampening inserts work? I seem them offered on Value Golf. I am willing to give them a go, if anybody hear has some feedback on their effectiveness.
JoeHatesSnow braveheart I always have felt like they help and have used them in any of my steel shafted club builds. I've played some of the harsher shafts out there in my irons (rifle lite, project x, c taper) and I've been happy I installed them.
Rickochet I used them years ago when they were call Pro Soft inserts. Many like them and they are inexpensive, easy to install and easy to remove. I used them while healing from a hand injury and they did dampen the vibration. As I healed they actually dampened too much of the feel for me so I removed them. I don't recall many others thinking that they dampened too much. It is an easy experiment to try and easily reversible if it doesn't work for you. Be sure to get the installation tool which makes it much easier. One note if you use compressed air to grip clubs, the insert can move up and down if you don't have the shaft end sealed well.
sdandrea1 Yes, they provide a noticeable reduction in vibration/sting, but not as much as graphite shafts. When you combine foam inserts with vibration-dampening grips, the results are even better. Very cheap experiment.
KCee I think they do work at least to some extent. I have the installation tool and some laying around if want to try them. I always thought steel iron shafts felt better if I FLO'd them and added the inserts.
Typhoon Don’t bring up FLO unless it’s a Progessive Insurance Ad. Hahaha! i would use the inserts in the project x shafts I have lying around.
ValueGolf I mentioned this in another thread, but if any Buzz member wants to try Sting Stoppers, I’ll throw in a free tool for them if they email sales@valuegolf.com after they place an order for inserts. Its a great tool and you’ll have it for future builds/installs.

Thanks Aaron!
JoeHatesSnow ValueGolf Wow, that's a generous add in! I still have some of the old inserts left that I got from VG but I might have to get more now. Is the new tool much easier to use? The old one wasnt too bad but i did have trouble sometimes getting it to 'release' the insert when I pulled the tool out.
ValueGolf JoeHatesSnow Yes, much easier to use. I basically want to get the tool out there to club builders because it’s that much easier to use.
