sdandrea1 Rickochet John Deere at the big box stores is not the same you will find at a lawn and garden equipment store or a JD dealer.
I got my JD mower at Lowe's and it came with a JD warranty. Fortunately we had JD dealer in town, but I never needed any repairs. My son still has the mower.
I bought a power washer at Lowe's with a B&S engine......now THAT was a total piece of shit. I gave it away and ordered a Honda engine Simpson washer on Amazon.
Absolutely right Rikochet. My wife bought our Scott’s lawn tractor back in 1998 from Home Depot. It’s actually a JD. Like Steve, I’ve had nothing but good luck with it. Maybe back then the stuff was on par with normal Deere stuff from a Local hardware store. Knock on wood I’ve only replaced blades, two front tires and oil changes. It’s a beast.
Snowblowers... A few years back Husquavarna had a bunch of snowblowers ar Lowe’s that all had the same issue with not starting. My neighbor across the street had bought one. Fought it back and they told him If he wanted a good one to go to a hardware store. The ones Lowe’s get have a different grade of steel and more plastics parts than the ones at local hardware stores. Luckily we have a huge Ace Hardware Store a mile away where u can get anything... a little more money for things like toilet seats, Stabilzer, grass seed but it’s to be expected.
We bought our Ariens snowblower there last year. Not screwing around in the snow department. Same thing with Weber grills, got mine at the hardware store, not Home Depot or Lowes
