For low cost local TV, you may be lucky enough to be in an area served by locast.org. They operate on donations and if they serve your area there is nothing cheaper. Unfortunately, I am not in one of those areas.
I recently switched from DirecTV to YouTubeTV. Its saving me money and I love the unlimited DVR option. I think some other streaming services may be slightly cheaper, but they didn't have decent DVR options. With little sports and no new shows on right now I find myself using my Netflix, Amazom Prime, and the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ services more often though.
More and more a la carte streaming options are popping up - even Apple seems to be getting into the game. NBC launched Peacock, and CBS has already been at it a while with All Access. Our future may be a bunch of a la carte services, but we won't be saving any money when its all added up!
