absolutely...Everyone's situation is different as is where they live and what living expenses are.....everybody's expectation for what lifestyle they maintain in retirement. As I said, Most analyses overestimate IMO, but they also clearly state that those amounts are based on maintaining the same lifestyle so taking a couple vacations a year etc. and with a life expectancy of 25 years in retirement.....
For me, doubtful I stay in this area where my house is worth almost 1million....its just too darn expensive....when I can get a similar house in another area of the province or another province for 1/4 that.....but hell, i could live in a log cabin ...so don't need much at all.
life expectancy is a big factor...if I live to 75 or 90 thats a huge difference in what I need to have saved....plus retirement homes are very expensive here....40-80k a year.
