Shot a 64 today in the first round of the first leg of the Web.com Tour Championship. Top 25 aggregate at the end of these 4 weeks gets their PGA Tour Card...

Good win for Bryson. He definitely stands out in many ways, but he showed that he knows how to win. One of the commentators remarked that he was out of the fairway most of the round and still posted a good score.

I missed a lot of the play since I was going back and forth between the U.S. Women’s Open and the Memorial. Since one was uninterrupted coverage and the other was a continuous stream of commercials with occasional pre-recorded coverage, I didn’t see much of the men’s play.

ValueGolf I have a feeling he will be around a lot longer than that. The guy is very young and very talented. He’s good enough to be a top 25 player for the next 15 years. I won’t be shocked if he finds a better approach ( for him) to putting and the only thing that will be a struggle is the driver, but he’s got enough distance, he just needs to reign it in some.

The Single Lenght concept is on the tour to stay, which means Value Golf is here to stay too, good for everyone!

Maybe. Maybe not.
I'm doubting the longevity of a lot of these younger players of today. I can see some(maybe a lot) of them getting on to other things well before 40. Too much money being doled out, too young to be receiving all that. I don't see the work ethic from a lot of them that the 'older' ones had/do have still.

Besides all that, I also see Bryson's brain exploding long before 40 😨. Regardless of his monetary status.

Par4QC his engineering degree is paid for haha. I think he is one that has something to prove, I don’t think he walks away. I do think a lot of the younger guys will play more limited schedules, which will hurt the sport. I don’t blame them though.

sdandrea1 The trouble withbarguing with yourself when you are a competitive person is the fact, you must win, therefore somebody has to lose. So in essence its a no win deal.

The kid just makes golf seem like a lot of hard work. And he's slow. And that makes me not want to watch him play.

Not saying he isn't good... obviously he is. But I'd much rather watch a guy like Matt Kuchar, who at least smiles and enjoys a laugh once in a while during the round.

He's just too analytical for my tastes, I guess. But I still hope he does well. He seems like a good kid.

He's def slow....and re: too analytical, I would agree he takes it up a notch with yardages, percentages, looking at his yardage book to read the green, etc. And he pouts like crazy, but I don't think any of that stuff makes him less of a golfer, well maybe the pouting, but ??

These guys obsess over their swings, have coaches/teachers and spend a lot of time and money on it. They have mental coaches/sports psychologists, cardio/physio coaches, etc. You may as well call the whole tour too analytical as a result, Bryson just goes about his way. If he played "regular" equipment, had a "regular" swing, and graduated with a degree in sports management, half the sh1t that gets said about him wouldn't even be said. Truth is, he wouldn't be as successful if he were just like everyone else. IMO the guy deserves credit for being great, yet in a way that NO ONE else has done. I mean people still question and criticize his swing technique and equipment, lol!
