Shot a 64 today in the first round of the first leg of the Web.com Tour Championship. Top 25 aggregate at the end of these 4 weeks gets their PGA Tour Card...

Weirfan I agree. Why is tiger getting hole by hole coverage in 20th place? I think it has a lot to do with the way one approaches the game themselves. I’m more of a Lee Trevino type. Loose, non robotic fast player. After the 3 and a half hour mark I start loosing interest and getting sloppy. I don’t even use range finders, just look for 150 marker, judge distance grab a club and wack it.

Sneakylong I can see where his demeanor on the course at times can turn people off.

That's the one area where he deserves some criticism. Not a fan of the pouting. Jordan Spieth and John Rahm would be leading the whambulence club!

He's an incredible player with a unique approach to the game. It works for him. He is also a physicist/scientist, so I completely understand the obsessing with details (having worked with and around scientists and engineers for decades). He's one of a kind and I am enjoying watching his career. The meltdown was epic - I think he might have cried. Love the whole package!

DC300 that sounds like my buddies and I after we get a few beers in us and start talking sports and the bets start to fly. We had some fun ones this year. The last go around was the bears being 1 and done in the playoffs and who would be the AFC championship, picked before the playoffs started. I won them both and two 6 packs of my choice!

ValueGolf Great point! He’s likely to pass Bubba Watson’s career win total this year. He’s going to need to make noise in the Majors to get respect because he’s different, but if he gets hit at the right time, I don’t know if anybody can beat him. He goes Looooooow.

I root for him. But I was put off by the clip of him and his caddie at Dubai, calculating the wedge shot. Every player knows the effects of wind, temperature, altitude, without consulting tables. Come on.

DonM oh I love it. Geta kick out of it. As long as he plays within time allotted time they can talk about whatever they want!

DonM , must explain why wind has no effect on all professionals. I’m enlightened. Science is far more exact, I’ll take his calculated ways vs hit and hope.

I enjoy watching Bryson play. Is he slow or is he determined to get as much information as possible before he visualizes his shot? I don't really see him wasting time. He seems to be busy in preparation. The one player I see that I think that is slow because of indecision is JB Holmes. Imo if JB took more of the approach of Bryson he would be more decisive on the course.

Imo Bryson's approach of seeking as many details as possible for every shot provides him a basis to improve and refine his game. Will it provide a constant upward spiral? I doubt that because he is not a machine. However, I believe with his dedication, talent and approach he will continue to improve and exceed what he has accomplished to this point, barring injury.

Spuzz I thing they continue to show it as people.discuss it so much. I may be wring but that's my hunch. Personally they need.to show more golf. When he has his club out switch back. I don't get why they don't show more shots. This goes for every pre shot situation. I don't care if it's 1m20s or 30s.

I agree, however, when you are in the last group and last to play, and take forever to choose between a GW and a SW (as Brooks Koepka was quoted on) it's hard to show other shots.
He is in the spotlight more due to his excellent play but his ugly slow play is also in the spotlight.
I don't believe he is being "picked on" due to his slow play, it's just that more people are becoming aware of it.

His quote on being "technically| not slow due to the PGA policy of no penalties being enforced is not helping things. He is apparently not going to be part of the solution.
