Micromanaging owners have been the ruin of many a promising head coach. Do I think Jason Garrett is a horrible head coach? Absolutely not. The history of that franchise speaks for itself. Despite all of the talent that has been at "America's Team's" disposal, they've done jack squat in the postseason since their last SB win 21 years ago. Jerry Jones is the head MFIC of micromanaging owners. He's had more than enough talent on the field and sidelines to win a few SB's since then. Marvin Lewis could've been the head coach back in '93, '94, and '96 and it wouldn't have mattered - they were loaded. They won despite an overbearing owner. Jerry was a new owner back then and just starting to realize that he had the authority to step in and assume the credit. Yet he assumes no ownership of the blame in the 21 years since.
Until these owners get tired of the gig and sell, or die off, nothing changes. Nothing changes because nothing changes.
