As entertaining as it sometimes may be, it is still nevertheless pointless to debate hypotheticals. LeBron vs Jordan, Tiger vs Jack, or Belichick/Brady's respective careers had they not evolved the way they did, when they did.
I mean if we're gonna go that route, we might as well play the "what if Bledsoe never got injured" card. Would Brady have remained a backup for several more years? Would he have been traded? If he were traded to another team to another head coach, would he still have been considered the GOAT?
We don't know what we don't know. And as there are examples of head coaches hitching wagons (Montana/Walsh) there's the occasional Marino/Shula example that seems to run contrary to the argument occasionally.
In other words, it's not necessarily a given.
