OK - time for OP's results and opinions!
A1. Best looking
B1. Best Sound/Feel
The Rogue wins all of the looks and feel categories.
A2. Worst Looking
I kind of like the crosshatch of the Indio, but for some reason, it looked like I was swinging a giant silver melon on a stick. It is the smallest head at 420cc, but my eyes thought it was closer to 550cc.
B2. Worst Sound/Feel
The Adams Fast12LS drivers just sound and feel weird to me. They aren't loud, but they feel like rock. The BWL feels springy like the old Big Bang 450 dd (ooh, I should get one of those again!)
And now PERFORMANCE time. I would hit 5 shots at a time with each driver, then on to the next five drivers. Back to #1 for 5 more hits, and so on. That way, one club wasn't saddled with me being tired. At the end, I compiled all the stats on a spreadsheet. I only kept the top 50%-60% hits for each club to avoid the bad swings and a couple of cracked range balls which skewed results.
My SS is a bit over 100. I play a baby fade on all shots, so the mythical 1.5 smash factor is not going to happen for me.
Here we go.
C. Highest Average Ball Speed - Adams Fast12LS / Matrix TP5HD at 147. BWL and Rogue second at 146. The Fast12LS with Matrix Radix shaft was at 144, so the unicorn TP5HD was worth around 3 mph ballspeed. Indio brought up the rear at 142.8.
D. Highest Average Carry Distance - BWL at 247.3. I did not expect that from a 14* driver. Second was Fast12LS/TP5HD at 246.8. AG-400 last at 238.3.
E. Lowest Spin - AG400 at 2904. Rogue at 2978.
F. Most Consistent (lowest max-avg) - The Rogue was super consistent, 245 carry max, 243 average. But it is an inch shorter than the others. So it gained consistency but lost distance. BWL on the other hand was 10 yards difference between max and avg.
G. Highest SMASH factor - Rogue wins at 1.404. Second is Fast12/TP5HD at 1.400. Others were all around 1.390.
H. Which one goes into my bag? The Adams Fast12LS/TP5HD. It is about 5-8 yards longer than the others except one. If you don't recall, the Matrix TPxHD line was their $899 retail shaft. I certainly wouldn't pay that, but it is an awesome shaft. And yes, for those of you on GolfBuzz way too much, you might remember the Fast12/TP5HD was found at a Phoenix Play It Again Sports for $19.99.
I do like the Rogue head though, I'm going to try a different shaft than the TP6HDe in it and see what happens.
I. Which one is on scramble duty? In the end, I used 15 shots from each driver in the calculations. The average carry from all shots was 242. Four shots got over 250 carry. F12/TP5HD had one at 253. The other 3 all came from the BWL with 251, 255 and 257 carry. But the BWL also had lots of drives in the 235 range. But if you catch it center, watch out! While most of my BWL drives launched at around 16, the 257 carry shot launched at 11.2 and at 2890 rpm.
Thanks for playing along! How did you do with your guesses?
