Here is the course report for this build.
We got 4" of rain, the range was closed. I walked nine and hit 3 or 4 tee balls with it on each of the driver holes.
Fit-wise, I feel it's too heavy and too stiff. Certainly the latter. With a 12.5 head I was only launching probably 11 degrees. My normal driver swing is 3 degrees out to in and 1 to 2 down, and what I saw with the 48 was probably the same. Tee height, I ended up the same as my normal. I just don't like this F7 head, but I have it.
This club is a tempo trainer! Meaning, if you don't use a good tempo, you are screwed. If I tried to put a hit on it, I would smother the ball. Overall the accuracy was better than expected, though. I started out hitting slight pull draws which were finishing just into the left rough. I fiddled with my grip and ball position and got straighter, subject to the following:
I'd sum it up as 1 out of 3 drives was a gain of 20 yards, measured with GPS. 1 of 3 was about the same as a nice drive with my gamer, and 1 of 3 was a mis-hit but still out there somewhere playable on a fairly open course. Most of the first several drives were quite long. After a while the club began to feel ponderous. Without looking at the first post to see if I already said this, the club weighs 286 grams right now. My next move will be an A flex 40-something gram shaft, with a normal grip, and after that, a 23 gram Winn midsize.
If anyone has an appropriate uncut shaft they want to sell or trade, let me know. I'm not looking to extend a shaft, because the extender adds too much weight IMO.
