Great result. Kinda of interesting without caddy. During Covid last year at Women's British when all (players and caddies) had to be in bubble some ladies pushed a cart and didn't have a caddy. Some of the ladies did very well.

+1! As, I said great result. Proves you don't need 14 even at the professional level. I suppose course conditions and layout also factor in.

As, I usually play 7 clubs you get used to what you have in the bag and develop a different kind of game. It proves more difficult when you have more forced carries. I don't play many courses that have forced carry yardages.

I stay away from modern power cart courses. Modern power cart courses are the ones with forced carry ie. Pete Dye. Old time muni type courses around here are walking and short distance between green and next tee kinda like Colonial. ☺

sdandrea1 I actually did that years ago, although only 9 holes when I played by myself sometimes. Combine golf and exercise. I didn't rush my shots or putts or anything but ran to my ball after every shot. People thought I was nuts and I was a bit of a fitness nut back then. I used a push cart, though.

Used an old Knight stand bag that I cut the legs off of and is super light (sub 5#'s). Has 4 full length dividers. 4 balls. Single prong pitch mark repair tool, and martini tee. 3 wheel Clic gear 3.0 with umbrella up for the bugs and sun. LOL it was like pushing a feather, hardly any resistance, it was weird and hard to steer that thing with that little weight. Anyways. I really enjoyed that. Once the warmer weather stays I'll play 36 on the weekends and am planning on playing with 7-8 for the 2nd round of the day. Oh and no technology. No rangefinder or GPS.

Muzino winner shows the essentials. Love the iron gaps 5,7,9, wedge arsenal, and hybrid. Awesome! Just me but I would dump the driver, PW, 50, and go for it. Of course, not competing on his level.

Who's still using a pull cart out there? I still have my Bag Boy but thinking of ditching it and going straight carry. Seems purer and just another piece of gear to eliminate. I know I'll have to lighten my bag a bit though. I want to enjoy the walk. Thoughts?

When I walk, I like to do it with a bag over my shoulder......it's just classic purist. I have several small/light stand bags and with 7 to 9 clubs, they are VERY light.

IMO the main reason to go Minimalist ie. 6-8 clubs is to carry a light bag. If you are using a push cart with cart bag the difference between pushing 6- 8 clubs to a full set of 14 is negligible. What does change is golfers perspective using fewer clubs and pushing the cart.

When the weather is nice and not hot and humid and playing 9's. I carry an older single strap Jones stand bag with 8. I don't walk 18's much anymore often with Jones and 8. When I go to 18's on walkable courses then it's push cart and Sun Mountain EcoLite a light push cart bag. In higher temps and humidity it's also push cart and SM EcoLite. I'll normally use 12 clubs in the Push cart set up. I also have been using a PR Dionne face-on putter in the push cart but not Jones as it's long length is not favorable.

Thanks for the feedback/insight. Pushing the Bag Boy because its very hot and humid in FLA and I have a large umbrella on it. Only walking nine once a week until fall. Never more than 6-8 clubs but lots of junk in the bag so needs re org.

Matt uses 3 full swing clubs 4i, 7i and SW 56* with putter. No decision paralysis. 😜

scotts33 was down by the folks and played Riverside on Friday with brother and dad. Single asked if he could join vs. being on own behind us.....course was pretty booked up so he joined us. He had D, hybrid, wedge, putter! Didn't realize til back 9 when he pointed it out. Played quick, was a nice guy.....fun round. I don't think I would have ever noticed if he didn't point it out.

Gaming the 2002 Big Berthas 6,7,8,9 + Perfect club 21* and LG Niblick 15* this summer. Vintage HBA Spalding putter and fabulous Spyder 56* zero bounce wedge rounds out the set. Loving the simplicity!!! Fore!

Current bag is mostly demo. XXIO Prime driver, 5w, 6h, 7, 8, 9, W. Cleveland CBX 52 and Smart Sole 58. PING NOME putter. 10 clubs, that's my max. The wedges and putter are mine.
