sdandrea1 Who defines minimalist? We need the official definition
Me, I am the one that brought it to FGI. โบ
IMO it goes back to the 6 club hickory set. You can play whatever you want with how many clubs but sheesh if you are carrying 10 why not just pack the other 4 what's the diff? It's just not Minimalist.
Minimalism = a style or technique (as in music, literature, or design) that is characterized by extreme spareness and simplicity take that to golf....extreme from a 14 club set is probably IMO half that or 6-7 clubs on average.
It goes to modern golf playing x amount of yards to x club with no imagination and manufacturing shots with x amount of carry.
Just saying do what you want but just me that's not Minimalist but for 14 guys maybe 10 is minimal for them and the way they have played over the years.
It appeals to those that want to carry a bag with 1/2 set and walk in general. I think that's the point. But it might be lost on a society of more is better folks.
