Was wondering what is the logic behind having multiple wedges in the club selection for the Minimalist bag?

It seem the gaps between other clubs selected requires some creative adjustments.

My BIG loft gaps are in the longer clubs. My game is based on HitDriveAdvanceBallThenShortGameToScore, so I don't need many clubs to cover the first 300 yards of a hole. Consequently, I carry a W, GW, SW.

My minimalist bag has a pw, gw, and sw. The pw and gw are set wedges and are more line 10 and 11 irons.

Martee I use one wedge as I agree with you when you play with a Minimalist bag you have to be a creative golfer and learn half shots etc. If you are not a golfer with imagination then playing with 1/2 sets etc. is a liability. I also play the ball lower than high trajectory American golf.

My bag club count may increase from 5 to 6. Loading up the car this morning, I noticed that my Pitching Wedge is taking abuse from my home course rocky bunkers.

There was another thread on bunkers and I think a few others have commented on the poor conditions and qualityboof the materials.

Thinking of using an old Sand Wedge. Oh the advice to avoid them may be well meaning, it becomes more of a challenge for me with a minimal bag.

In the past 6 weeks I have made more equipment changes than I have in the past 2 years.

My Minimalist Bag - 6 clubs

Titleist B30 Carry Bag (Red/Black - modified)
4 wood 16.5° (Tee/Fairway Shot)
4 hybrid 21° (Fairway/Approach Shot)
6 iron 26.5° (Approach Shot)
8 iron 34.5° (Approach Shot)
PW - 43° (Approach Shot)

Short Game Clubs - 8i, PW & Putter

The 5 hybrid, SW sidelined and the 4 hybrid and 6 iron added.

I am trying to refine the set-up so it will travel across different courses where yardage would range between 5400 to 6000 yds.

Beginning to think my problem may not be the arrow, it might be the indian... 🙁

Say what you want but this works. My go to when I get screwed up on the course.

It is pretty easy to play with say 8i, GW and putter. Throw in some sort of driving club and you are good for most courses.

My usual set up is 2w, 4h, 7-gw and putter. Anything else I take is just for giggles. Although I sometimes regret leaving the sw at home.

DonM Clubs are a very individual thing. Some just set up better to you than others. Loft, lie, design, appeal to the eye at address, etc. I can definitely tell the difference playing quality made clubs vs. cheapies.
