Going over my rounds this year most of my best rounds were with the short bag.

Played 9 with my wife this week and played out of her bag with just a 7 iron.....no putter. 😳
5 pars, 3 bogies and a birdie. That was fun - haven't done one club in a while.

I'm going to try it next week, weather permitting, SVG square Sasquatch clone 10.5, Krank 7W, Tommy Armour Atomic 7-9-AW, Chicago Wide Sole 60, Otey Crisman putter. This time of year, with either soft aprons and greens, or rock hard ones, dialing in distances isn't as important. I'll see how it goes the next few weeks.

Tell my group all the time 7 is all you need. Honestly think i could get by with 5 or 6. My score is same as their full bag. Of course seeing is believing and they cant argue with the scorecard. Wish i had done this years ago.😄

I like 6 but play with up to 8. 6 seems about right for me.

This ^ will be my first Minimalist bag this Fall when I get a chance to get out.. I may add a GW.
I haven't carried a bag in ages but this one will be so light, who cares. 🏌

To me that's the point of Minimalist Golf. Light bag carry and walk it's a breeze so much less over thinking. Golfers with 14 tend to over think and believe they are PGA pro's. 😀

Haven't hit this baby in a decade. It asked me to take it out to play soon and I will.
Use to hit it on tight par 4's. Great club in its day.

I've tried to take a couple of wooden woods out with me a couple of times in the last two years. It did not
go well either time. Don't know if it's my age, or just being used to hitting a hollow cored metal wood vs.
a solid block of persimmon.....steel vs. graphite may have made a big difference too.

Yep. This one has a True Temper steel shaft - may not work for me these days. 🙄

It's probably more the shaft (graphite to steel). The size difference volume of head size is almost the same persimmon to steel in fairway woods.

I'm going out tomorrow with 8 clubs, weather permitting:
10 degree DFT Final X driver, 47.5"
10.5 degree SVG Sasquatch clone, 44.5"
21 degree Krank Formula 7 7 wood
Tommy Armour Atomic 7-9-AW
60 degree Chicago Wide Sole wedge
Otey Crisman putter

The 7 wood carries about 185-190 this time of year, if I'm further out than that, I'll just have to accept it. The Atomic 7 iron carries about 160, so I should be close enough to cover gaps.

There is no such thing. Minimalists by nature are about accuracy not distance.
