I may try and add a single strap to my Izzo bag....pretty sure it's only 4.5 lbs. Is there anything special about the single strap I need to know about?

Just depends on how the strap is attached to the bag. IMO when you get above 4 lbs. you are adding weight and defeating the purpose of Minimalist walking golf. But to just try it....it makes sense before investing in a light Sunday type bag. Double harness bags are designed for double harnesses. My issue with double harness stand bags is the double harness even with bag adjsuted to best walking posture is that you lean into the weight of the bag and this makes you hunch over and not walk upright. When you use single strap "stick" method right handed you put strap on left shoulder and throw right arm over end of bag (woods-longest clubs)...this presses the bag against the small of your back and you automatically walk with upright posture...shoulders back and in a great walking posture. Most folks walk stooped over anyway. Weight is evenly distributed left shoulder sing;e strap right arm over bag. At 71 in good average health if I can do it just about anyone can. Being a former caddie helps a bit. This is how we carried old 14 club heavier bags in the day.

Typhoon I’ve always loved the old school Jones bags from the 1970’s. I know they’re selling them again but wouldn’t they be bigger and weigh twice as much as a Moonlite bag?

you'd have to look up the specs, but I think a Jones Original is a tad heavier than a PING MOONLITE (the older ones without the stupid mini stand).

I just walked 9 (the harder of the 2 nines) with this setup. I'm climbing out of driver hell (into driver purgatory) with a kind of hybrid Junge-Norman-DeShambles setup. Trying to just swing the triangle with quiet hands on an inside to out path. I hit some shots that felt like they had the old pop on them. Scored well with the rest of the bag.

My Izzo is 6.5 #'s. I have an old stand bag that I bought from Dunham's that I use for old clubs. The legs on that thing never worked right so I relegated it to storage and cut the legs and hardware off. I fitted a strap for it and it comes to 3.9 #'s. 4 way top with full length dividers. The base is actually solid and it stands on its own without clubs. Downfall is that 1/3 of the base is at a 45 deg angle where the lever to activate the legs was housed. If it were flat all the way I bet it would stand alone with clubs. Gonna fashion something to level the base and I bet I'll be good. LOL that old junky Knight bag is gonna see some action-

$149 for the Ping Moonlite bag on TGW. Is Ping fuckin high???

its funny, 2.5 lbs, that’s nice but it has a 4 way divider and carries 14 clubs, has an apparel pocket... sounds like my Ping L8 bag from 1984, but back then it was a normal carry bag that evolved into the Hoofer line.

Screw that, my bag doesn’t weigh much, I’ll just carry less clubs and save the money. I only carry 4-5 balls, rain gloves, some tees and a rangefinder anyway. Same as I’d carry in a moonlite

Just got back from carrying 9 with da Knight....must say quite a difference between the two....I know it's only 2.5 #'s, but it was quite noticeable.....stick method likely helped. Strap needs adjusting as the bag was at ass level, which is too low. I'll futz with it and see. Might have to consult with my pops to come up with something neat for the base!

The TM Quiver bag I showed a few days ago is just under 2 lbs. Unfortunately the new & improved version looks a bit bigger. The stubby legs fold down manually. I just leave them extended for for the whole time. I'm a dew sweeper, so I want the bag and towel off the ground.

With 6 clubs and no putter, and 3 balls and a small towel, I think it's 7 - 8 lbs. Truly feather light. I just sling it on my shoulder however I feel like. It's a lot easier than pushing the cart with a bigger bag. That really depends on the hill factor, though.

Played with 8 clubs today in a money game with my regular 4some. It works. I could have used 7, as the 8i stayed untouched. 81 with a double bogey on the card.

I got one at $75 early this morning for a friend fellow walker when I posted the link. Maybe you have to get one of the early bird purchases. I get their e-mail on special promotions. I am assuming they sell so many bags and then revert back to other pricing.
