I understand what your saying about Canadian Bacon cause we had it all the time as kids. But ours was also the Pork loin, but never was it dipped in Cornmeal. Never heard of it being served that way.

Some of you may remember the "Cowbell" driver I built (using Thomas Golf components) a few weeks ago....
Well, I sold it (!), took the proceeds plus a little store credit from a trade-in at Mike's Golf Outlet.com, plus
their current 10% discount site-wide and bought myself a used PING G SF Tec driver....12 degree, Senior Flex
Alta 55 shaft. With free shipping, my outlay was just a little over $100 bucks for a club that looks to be only
lightly used. I don't know why I didn't go that route in the first place...
just had the urge to "build something" again, I guess. Thankfully, that urge
has come and gone. Now I can quit worrying about getting rid of that other club and just go play (when the
weather breaks that is....!!)

That was yesterday. Took the old one's out, reinstalled the new ones without any major calamities. Just waiting for the rain to pass through today so I can get to painting 'em tomorrow. Also gonna repaint my entrance door, which is in dire need of some TLC.

Speaking of TLC, I got out of bed this morning feeling like I'd been run over by a tank. Bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, hammering... not accustomed to this solo manual labor crap! lol Perhaps it's not the worst that the rain came today to give me a day of respite.

I did that a few years ago during one of the hottest summer spells. I replaced 4 posts on my 30' x 10' front porch roof. I used some 10" square aluminum load bearing posts. I did this by myself and had to jack the roof up to get the new ones in. Never having done this before I was a bit concerned but it worked out well. I used a $10 bottle jack and two 2x4's screwed together to do the jacking. Having the prepainted posts was nice after fighting my old wooden posts for 30 years. Here is a pic with the two center ones up.

I considered pre-painting them before installation, which is generally recommended. But I decided to do the brunt of the work yesterday while it was nice outside. I spray painted the aluminum bases (used the old ones after sanding and cleaning them up). Thankfully my front porch is more like a 5' x 10' awning, so I only had to replace two. It was still tedious and time consuming... had to use a PT 4x4 as my only source of support, since I don't have roof jacks. It worked fine, just had to cut the 4x4 about 1/8 of an inch longer than the finished length of the porch posts to lift it up high enough to hammer (with a rubber mallet and block of wood) the others in place.

We were going to pay a handyman $100 to do it and paint them. But given the situation currently, I decided to do them myself and they came out nice. So I saved myself 100 bucks. Also power washed the soffits and exterior prior to doing all this. I'm probably going to repaint all of the fascia flashing trim while I'm at it. The lady who owned our place before we bought it loved stringing xmas tree lights all around the porch, so I've got about 25 plastic fastening clips that have to be removed from the flashing. I'd hate to have this looking much nicer and yet have those ugly looking clips still there. Her husband wanted to make good and sure those lights weren't coming down! lol
