Trying to buy a set of PXG irons on OfferUp.
Guy had them listed for $500. Good enough deal for me. I clicked the "Buy Now" button, entered my CC #, and the website said my CC would be charged when the seller accepts. Not sure why the seller needs to accept a "Buy Now" at the asking price.
About an hour later, I get a message from the seller than for some reason, the website wasn't giving him the option to "accept" my offer. And suggested I cancel and try it again. So I do that, cancel the Buy Now offer, and immediately go back and Buy Now again.
Now I start getting error messages from the website & app. If I try to click into the message chain (where the offer also goes), I get a website not found error - so I can't even message the seller. The ad is no longer there, although I can still get to it from my "saved" list. However, if I click Buy Now/ Ask / Make Offer buttons - all come back with errors.
About an hour later, checking my e-mail, and I see an OfferUp e-mail from the seller saying " not sure what is wrong with the website, it just won't give me the accept option. I'm waiting to hear back from support." I sent a reply, but it goes to an OfferUp forward e-mail, and I suspect that won't work either.
It was too good of a deal to be simple I guess, had to be a glitch somehow.
Let's see what happens, but I am not optimistic.
