Yeah, I bought a couple of Cobra L4V drivers back in 2012-2013 for far less than anybody's asking for one today, 8-9 years later. I know it had a cult following, but still, it's ridiculous.
What did you buy this week?
Bought a rubber overmolded AR15 grip, gun oil, barrel snake, target stand, targets, monopod, Caparison cheek pad, and a 6” muzzle brake/compensator. Hopefully tonight I’ll have time to tear down the RPRR and give it a nice cleaning/lubing, then torque it back together correctly before installing the add ons and sighting it in. Weather permitting, range time won’t be too far behind.

JeffTilley Keep it nice and wet. Mine will see some action as a short range deer gun soon. You should think about some back up iron sights. I found a set of fairly rugged aluminum pop up sights already on 45 degree mounts for fairly cheap.
Scored a decent PING L8 and a PING Latitude bag Saturday at PIAS. $60 out the door.
So a kid comes in the other day, made a tee time online. He has this brand new Ping Cart bag with 6 clubs in in and says, “ my friend is coming and I don’t know if he has a bag. so if he does can I leave this one here?” I said “does he have clubs and what about the clubs that are IN the bag?” He said oh he’ll use those. So at that point I just gave up.
I come in the next day at 11 and the now empty bag is outside. I took the bag back inside the proshop. We still have it. I could go and look up the kids number and call him but I’m not. If he’s that stupid, you can’t fix that. Bag still had the plastic air bags in the pockets etc…
A while back a guy left an Apex 8 iron with a px 6.0 shaft. He took the time to have shaft bands with his name and email address made. After 2 months I emailed him that we have his club. He never responded, never came for the club.
Typhoon I worked at the pro shop last year. XXIO 9 iron left behind in June. Phone number on the shaft band. Left several messages over the next few weeks. A month later, the guy calls and said he got messages, I tell him the club was still here. When we closed up shop in December, it was still there.
Walterjn I don't know if it's still there -- I got a different part-time gig this year. New pro there, too. Redesigned the shop, but there's no lost and found bin or area visible. I'll have to ask next time I go in. My guess is somebody took all the L&F at the end of the year and put it up on EBay. We closed for snow in mid-December, and though the shop was open to sell county gift cards through New Years weekend, the pro and his wife were manning it 4-5 hours a day, and we were laid off for the season.
Most of our shit is not eBay worthy. Part way through the year I brought some of last years lost and found up to the golf school. It’s crazy how many clubs we have again. There’s also a brand new Vokey wedge nobody has called for after a month. Someone lost their SIM OS 7iron and pw… we’ve had that for 3 months.
I took a nice Nike Tour 60 degree and a Mizuno Bettinardi putter that were there since last year. I’m going to probably be selling everything for $5-$10 a club and we’ll put the money in the “Dr McGuillicuddys fund”
But it’s the only way I get “new stuff.”
I picked up a few driver heads from Monark to try out the last couple of weeks. DFT Final X, a Callaway clone that I shafted with a $5 Paderson Kinetixx X flex at full length. The Integra Hibrid Titanium with an old R flex Black Tie that was in the bin, plays about 44.5". Also picked up an Adams Redline RPM 8.5* head for my brother-in-law -- shaft was broken off at the hosel, seemed to scare off others on EBay, $16.25 shipped. The shaft stub came out on the second try. It's a pretty nice head.
I bought a Like New Toulon Las Vegas H7 putter from CPO on eBay....why is it significantly less than directly from CPO? Always liked the shape of my Odyssey 7S, but hated the insert......of course now I'll have one less excuse for my poor putting.
A Mission ratchet belt for my pants. Actually I got it for Christmas but today I finally got around to cutting it to length so I could wear it.
Bought oil & filter for my car. Unfortunately I rack up miles way quicker than Papa D's wife.
