Just spent far too much money on my son's needed for college laptop. Could buy a lifetime supply of good pens, notebooks, and graph paper for the the 2k. Then again, I haven't written or typed a report by hand since a Macintosh showed up in our office area in 1986 (maybe 85? - don't remember now). Did still use a drafting board up until 1990 or so though. Oh well, hopefully he doesn't load it up with games and play his way to the drop out zone.
Now that I think about it, maybe 2k isn't so bad for something you can run engineering modeling and simulation software on these days.
