I bought (ordered) a new golf cart yesterday. It's a 2026 E-Z-Go RXV with a lithium battery. It was almost like ordering a new car having to pick each thing on the cart that I wanted. It's going to be built this next week and I should have it in maybe 2-3 weeks.

Congrats! I plan to do the same one of these days. For now, I had the 2 carts I have(Western and an older Club Car) converted to a Lithium battery system. Expensive, but absolutely love it. Best thing ever.

That was my other option that I was considering. I was going to purchase and install a lithium Ecobattery. It was
my choice because of the You Tube tutorial that was far better than any of the other brands. It showed a step by step
installation on the same kind of cart that I own.

I was absolutely stuck. Basically because of where I am. The two carts with the lead acid batteries were obviously dead. Tried selling the carts. No luck. The Lithium revolution came up so fast. No person would buy these carts with brand new lead acid batteries with the maintenance, and limited life span when they can buy a lithium powered cart for only a few hundred dollars more. I could put new batteries in them for what? Simply kicking the can down the road and ending up here again in 4 years(not to mention watering them, etc.). What I had 2 years ago, easily 6,000 dollars on any give day, I was now looking at having someone come and tow them away for free, or worse the price of getting rid of them. Now, at least they will have value.

But I would like to get a brand new one. A couple years ago EZ-GO had this limited edition "Blizzard". White, lifted, lithium, everything you could put on one. Sick. Sad I din't pull the trigger.

That's kind of what I was facing. My cart is a 2010 RXV that I put new batteries in last year (in April). All winter I was watching the charge meter planning to plug in the charger when it dropped below 1/2 charge. I checked it and it was 2 needles above 1/2. I thought, "I'll check it again in 2 weeks and then probably charge it up." I checked it and the needle was all the way to empty. I couldn't get it to do anything and when I plugged the charger in I found that it wouldn't even engage. To make matters worse, the RXV's have electric brakes that lock on every time you stop the cart and when the batteries aren't charged at all the brakes stay on. Last time that happened we ended up getting it to the base of the trailer and pulling it onto the trailer with a small come-a-long. It was a job pulling it up the ramp with the brakes on. The dealer at that time said there was no way around the brakes without electricity. This time we looked on you tube and sure enough there was now a way to get them to release. We loaded it up and I took it to the dealer 1 1/2 hrs. from me.
They were able to get the batteries charged, discharged and charged again. They tested and told me the batteries were testing as almost new. I decided I was done with lead acid batteries and went to see my original dealer at New Hampton, IA. which is 3 1/2 to 4 hrs. away. They gave me a deal that was $1000 less for a 2026 than the other dealer wanted for a 2025. Also, the dealer in Iowa is giving me $4000 for my old cart and the other dealer wanted to give me $2500. The cart has a new body on it and Crager SS wheels which were fairly expensive when I bought them. It looks almost new yet.

Just bought 4 new tires, for the Challenger. Kicking myself for not shopping tires, at Walmart, earlier in life. Damn, I could have saved half, over the years.

LBlack14 I've been buying there for 10 years....order online..set up appointment....works great.

LBlack14 Have bought a few sets there over the years. Never a failure.

Funny(now).......last set I got was for my truck. Cost installed was like $400, and I raised hell about that price.
2 years ago I had to replace a tire on my car(not at Wal Mart). About 1/2 the size of the truck tire. $220+.....1 damn tire.

LBlack14 Costco has good prices too although more limited selection. I'm lucky we have a local place that will beat both Walmart and Costco by a hair assuming you are getting them mounted and balanced.

Drivers side mirror for the Honda CR_V. Wife whacked it into something backing out of the garage. Still works, but enough plastic broke that its wobbly and probably won't survive much vibration before it tries to come off.

I just test drive a Mustang MachE (electric). Fastest, smoothest, quietest car I've ever driven. Comfort and ride is outstanding. 346HP. 400+ in the GT Package. Bad news it doesn't qualify for the $7500 tax credit, so it's off the table. HOLY SHIT what a vehicle.

sdandrea1 check out the Dodge Hornet. Its a PHEV with 31 mile (I get closer to 40) electric range then it switches to hybrid mode. Over my last 3000 miles, Im averaging 62 mpg. I commute 25 miles each way so Im mostly electric during the week.

Its sooth and fast, nearly the same size as Mach E, and can be gotten on dirt cheap leases.

stroh The engineer that called it a 'Mustang' should be beat severely about the head and shoulders! And the CEOs that allowed it to make it to the streets with that name should just be executed outright in their offices.

Not even close to being a Mustang. Or looking like one.

Friend in the 80s had a Mustang II that we nicknamed “The Pinto”. I had an 84 and 86 Mustang GT that were of the boxy style, very un-Mustang like on the outside, but at least had a drive train that could growl and scoot.

I'm getting conflicting info. The dealer says no on the tax credit. What's you're source on that?

Bravopilot I am now driving a 2016 Scion iM, which is really a Corolla hatchback. My days of caring about cars enough to spend much money on them are long passed.

johnnydoom Had a 76 Trans Am with the screaming chicken on the hood when I was Lt, lots of power but quickly exceeded my pay in gas. Traded it in for a Jetta--great car.
