Typhoon jsippy73 It is. Best ever blend of distance and accuracy. But I don’t hit it very crooked so something that goes further is nice.
Walterjn I bought a fan clutch this last week. Already put it in. I decided that fan shroud removal is a giant pain in the ass. Fan shroud modification is a much easier option. I made one cut in it, removed one of the hold down nuts, and bent the top out of the way. Then I was able to get to the fan clutch with ease. It's not that difficult of a job when you have decent access.
[deleted] Typhoon If it's in nice shape it's a good deal. That head alone is going for around $180 and that shaft isn't bad either.
Typhoon [deleted] Exactly. It’s in great shape so I know I could turn around the whole club or just the head and more than make my money back. The SIM heads though are great, this one is worth a try at that price
jsippy73 Typhoon I purchased a new G430 Max but only got to play it 3 times in my 9 hole league before my back forced me to stop playing, but I missed my 400 Max that I had already sold. I was able to buy it back and will be more able to compare them if I am able to play this season.
colej Typhoon I had the OG SIM Max and thought it was really good. I then sold it for the Stealth + and that was a huge downgrade.
Typhoon jsippy73 The g400 max was actually 10k. The only 10k one after that is the 430 max10k. It doesn’t feel the same off the face. The old max was more lively to me… I knew when I hit it good. In the years between the models the face size and shape are different, weight has been moved all over the place so there is no doubt to me that is the reason
jsippy73 Typhoon . It doesn’t feel the same off the face. The old max was more lively to me… I knew when I hit it good. That's exactly what I thought even as a lower swing speed hitter, plus with the 400 I was very confident of hitting the middle of the fairway a lot. I don't fade or draw the ball. Goes straight.
Walterjn Well, I bought some grips here. I also bought a pair of driver heads off ebay. Both are Srixon Z785 9.5°. One was under $40. It's not super pretty by the pics, the price was right. The 2nd one looks to be freaking mint from Japan. That one was under $80 shipped. Here's the cheap one. Here's the expensive one. The cheap one looked like a stray someone gave up on. That's the only reason I got that one, we'll that and I'll have the expensive one as a spare. Be nice to see 10.5 one I have against the 9.5 with the same shaft. Was looking at a few of the Krank drivers that have been listed. Kinda drooling over a 7.5° that was listed @ $120. Supposed to come with adapter and headcover, looks almost mint.
sdandrea1 I was pretty surprised when I scored this "new" Cleveland head from Carl's Golfland for $59 with free shipping. There was some epoxy residue in the hosel, but it really looks like it's new, otherwise.
Typhoon Well I was relieved to see that someone already bought that SIM2 max from Golfers Warehouse. I met Backinit for coffee up the street and figured I’d go on. If it was there, I’d grab it but only because. I go it and I’d say I was 80% relieved it was gone. No more thinking about another club I didn’t need. I did hit the new TM Qi35 woods though for the first time.
