Back in August of this year I bought a used 2020 f-150 with 34,500 miles on it. When I bought it they advertised it as Ford Certified pre owned. A couple weeks back it states making some weird noises in the front end at different RPM. Initially I’m thinking wheel bearing but since I’m mechanic and I’m curious I pulled the wheels. The brakes are flat out worn out. My opinion the wheels have never been off the truck.
I call the salesman where I bought it (2.5 hours away) who said if I ever had any issue, I could take it to my local Ford dealer. I sent him pictures of everything and he agreed of my assessment that the tech pencil shipped the safety inspection. The sales rep pulled the inspection and the pads were measured at 7mm
I take to my local ford dealer and they replace a wheel bearing but wouldn’t you know the brakes are not warranties do to being a maintenance item. I’ve put just under 2,000 miles on it I knew they were gonna tell me this. So now I’m playing a game trying to get the OG dealer to either pay or pay the local dealer to replace. My local dealer says that can’t get anyone to return their call.
2,000 miles later and this is what my brakes look like. I will say this, even with this amount of wear and rotor run out, it still brakes pretty well.
