Normally I am partial to an 8802 blade-style putter or center-shafted mallet putter. Never really gotten along with face-balanced heel-shafted putters much. Always had an eye on a 2-ball variant since back in the day, preferably with weights but not really wanting to pay $250 or whatever.
Trying to make this long story shorter, I picked up an Odyssey White Ice 2-Ball Blade Putter from FB Marketplace yesterday and put it into play today - but I had a bit of a surprise prior to putting it into play!
This was quite local to me so I walked over to the individual's home (about 3-4 blocks away). As I'm walking home I'm occasionally looking at the putter head - and eventually notice what looks to be epoxy above the hosel. Huh? What do you know, I twist the head a bit and sure enough - it's loose. Rather a surprise to me because the face and crown of the putter is in really decent condition considering the age of this putter. Got home and not much heat was needed to finish the job (removing head from hosel). Maybe the putter was stored under hot conditions for some time. Anyways, reinstalled and cured overnight and took it to the course. Putted fairly well especially considering the hole locations were really tricked up and greens were quicker than normal.
Note to those who might be interested: Since the head was off I figured I would weigh it before reassembly - it was 345.8 grams. I guess to two significant figures that is 350 grams!
