I thought we had a thread for this, but couldn't find it. What did you buy today?

KCee You ever have an old set of TA 845's? PW, W1, W2, W3. Then you also had the SW.

Par4QC No I did briefly have a set of TA's (not 845) about 20 years (or more), but they were 4-P as I recall and I didn't have the matching SW. I think it would annoy me too much to see PW1 and PW2 or W1 and W2 lol

KCee I have no idea what the lofts of those W irons could have been. The irons were all very much 'traditional' lofts with a 4 * separation. iirc, 6i was 32 *, PW was 48 *, SW was 58 *.

Par4QC Notice they did not 'jack the lofts'. They jacked the iron numbers instead, according to the lies and lengths. WTF? Essentially a set of 4-GW.

It doesn't matter to me what the number on the sole is. As long as I know what 'tool' I need for a certain distance. Usually distance irons have less spin. So I need trajectory to stop the ball on the green. And according to the simulator the trajectory was good.

Natpharm Good on ya... please report when you have a chance to compare these to the G400's on the course as these are what I play as well.

One thing I don't like about the G400's is the PW and AW don't go as far as they should. They go as far as my G15's and the G15's have weaker lofts. Doesn't make any sense.

Today I got my free shipping package from GW. Some shafts, ferrules, and one of the new Winn LT grips. Kudos to them on the shipping. I ordered on Monday, and FedEx was here today. Big contrast to Hireko which takes forever lately.

Exactly. It was the same with the PW and GW with the G's also. I strengthened the lofts and it helped a little. It's funny that the G15 PW and GW actually go a little further with weaker lofts. Have a golf buddy who had the G's and he noticed the same thing.

Rickochet I just installed a midsize LT grip. I haven’t played it yet but the shape is exactly what I’ve been wishing for. It is approximately 3/4” shorter than normal though, which I’m not crazy about. Same goes for weighing only 42 grams. They could make it normal length and then the weight would be closer to normal.

I’m excited to try it out.

I got my grips from Grips4less. Winns tend to be shorter at 10" vs. 10.5" for most but unless you grip at the bottom of the grip it shouldn't matter. I got the LT jumbos and they are even larger at the lower end than the Winn Excel. I really like the feel.

the prep is the worst part if you go to mercy south they actually have this chair you can sit in and it pumps the fluid in and out of you. I think it takes less than a hour. If I’d known about it prior I’d probably would have done it.

I know all about prep, via a few colon surgeries. As in I had a foot of my colon removed. Just something about going in through the out door, freaks me the fuck out. I wanna be knocked the fuck out!! I'm gonna get it before the season starts, is the plan..... I think. Off topic, do you happen to have a favorite watering hole?
