Word of caution. If the shaft pins were tapered they may not have expanded enough that when the shaft is trimmed to have filled the entire tip hole at the sole. Hope this does not happen, but if it does then fill the holes with black epoxy before final sole finish
Many old timers (like me) would epoxy the shaft in with no pin and let it cure. Then trim the shaft close to the sole, then set the pin with a liberal amount of epoxy, then let that dry with the club in an upright position to be sure the epoxy fills in around the pin, let it cure, then finish they sole.
