DonM Steve, honest question... Based on your extensive club trials, if you had to commit to one set of irons for the next 24 months, what would you pick?
Tough question, Don. They would probably be graphite shafted and a midsized GI club. I like steel because of the heft, but graphite allows me to play more often pain-free. I think I would steer away from clicky hot faced jacked lofted modern irons. I could honestly play these 2 sets of Callaway 2004 Big Bertha irons for the next 2 years. They are not a super shovel, they look good at address, have a GREAT sole grind, and the wedges are easy to use in most lies (for me). I have a set of Cally X14 irons too that I really like.
