I can go along with this for people like us. For the average golfer, I think they adapt to mis-fitting clubs and could benefit from getting fit.

Agreed. I know that my clubs are pretty well self-fitted. It was both disappointing and with some pride that the Ping factory fitting could only find me 2 MPH of driver ball speed, and then only (IMO) because of their 45" driver vs my 44" one.
But part of me wants to believe there is a magic shaft and head out there for me, if only I could get to the right fitter to find it. I haven't given up on the power iron idea, but I need to first give a good shot to the stuff I have already bought for the same reasons.
