Well, I have my 870ti's shafted with the FST 115 A flex with new Avon Jumbo Chamois II grips and will give them a go on Weds. playing the same course I played the recoils on last week.

I played 3 weeks ago and started with the 870ti's with the FST 115 tipped to an A flex. They felt too harsh for me. Could be too early in the season, reduced grip strength or having hurt my back on the 2nd tee box but I didn't like how they felt. I put them in the truck on the turn and played my Power Play Adrenalines with the Fubuki shafts and they felt better but not what I was looking for. I think I might give the Recoils another try with some stronger lofted heads and just adjust to whatever distance loss I get. I did like the feel but not the distance. I am not looking forward to this. Maybe I am getting too old but I just don't enjoy tinkering with this stuff anymore. Maybe time to take up bocce ball. 👴

Got to keep busy with the ol' mind, or it goes, you know? I've been going nuts, ever since quitting my job. The sudden walkout was not planned, and I had nothing planned for after; still don't. It's been a few years since I could do any clubjacking😆, so that's what I've been doing. Esp. since all the rains won't allow playing. It makes the brain hurt sometimes, and kills any retirement funds that are there, but it is nice to look at the new clubs, and the old refurbs.

Yes! Hell, I'm reshafting some clubs merely for busy work and my first shot at bore-through hosels. Bocce ball doesn't have tinkerable equipment!

Rickochet When I decided to try graphite shafts in irons I took the easy way out. After seeing the prices on new shafts, I just decided to wait for a set with graphites to go for sale on here and bought them. I like the hobby, but it was going to be a blind experiment for me either way and I didn't have the energy to jump into a build knowing it might be an ongoing project. As it turned out, the set I bought suited what I needed perfectly. I did assemble the OMG wedges for my son though so the shafts would match the rest of his set. He loves them.

Sadly I feel the same. I have some heads laying around that I keep meaning to do something with, but I'm just not that motivated. Still love to play golf almost as much as possible, but not so much with building clubs.

For the past few years I have had about 4 sets of irons I would switch in and out of depending on the season and other factors and that worked well. Now, it would appear nothing fits well anymore due I guess to age. I just am not motivated to do a lot of tinkering. I have had a set of Ping Eye 2's for about two years I was planning to ream and reshaft and just haven't gotten to it. I also have back issues that limit how long I can do stuff before sitting, so these days I seem to be sitting longer and working less.

Rickochet I used to tinker with clubs more than I played golf with them, but that was mostly because I had an hour or so of time to retreat to my basement, but I didn't have 6 hours free to actually play golf. Now I have early tee times Sat and/or Sun, but I'm busy with too much other stuff to tinker with clubs. And honestly just not that interested in doing it. I won't even regrip a friend's clubs any more....I always hated that any way lol.

Actually I am pulling two sets of iron heads and reshafting them today and one driver. I am giving the recoils another try in a set in Integra Sooolong Power bar heads, reshafting my old acers with some FST 115's and putting a Diamana 40g A flex I got with a GBB Epic driver (too soft) and slapping it in an old DTG 175 at 47.5". I do have to take my daily after lunch nap with the dog before I finish though. I hope to play for the first time in a month on Weds. but the weather doesn't look promising. 😡

I got out today, and it wasn't pretty. The course that is; my game is always lovely.😅 They were mowing all day and it looked like they were getting ready to put up hay.

Tried to get out Sat. but the courses I contacted said: we're closed, flooded.....front closed, back 9 walking only.....open, no carts.....no times open til after 2(which I assume meant they were closed until then). I gave up trying after 4 calls. I knew we had a "bit" of showers recently, just didn't realize Noah was waiting around all the golf courses! More rain tonight, can't wait.

P.S. Take a gallon of bug spray. Prolly should just drink it.

I don't know if they are two different shafts or just trimmed differently but they are sold in a combo flex as S/X and R/S (Senior)

Probably mixing up the FST Pro (stepless)and OG FST (stepped). Pro's are softer. See DSFI and make sure you aren't looking at 115 Pro vs. OG 115. Rick would like the OG FST cuz they are stepped and he builds over length and needs stiffer shafts than the stepless FST Pro at his playing length IMO.

Two different combo flex shafts FST 115 A/R and FST II5 S/X hence you could get close to same numbers depending on tip trimming. That is what you are seeing here. The FST 115 A/R for a 5i "R" flex is tipped 3 1/2". The FST 115 S/X for a 5i "S" is tipped 2 1/2". The 1" tip trim difference in the two different combo flex FST 115 A/R vs. S/X yielded the DSFI results. You could e-mail Jeff Summitt for more information.

I have the same shafts in my Srixon 585's...Great shafts... I am looking to get some 70 Aerotech for other set.
